Songs for stress relief - January 15th 2017, 04:53 PM

Do you listen to music for stress relief? Which songs take you to a different place and help you to forget the stresses of every day life? What are your favourites?

Maybe it's something upbeat and positive, or something soothing and relaxing. I'd love to hear which songs work for you!

Hi Haley,

This is a fantastic question! I tend to listen to Demi Lovato. There's others but can't think of them right now

I don't like listening to songs much, but I do enjoy certain sounds. I like white noise, rain, cats purring, and this fish tank one. Not all at once, of course.

So, I tend to listen to Disney songs sometimes. Stuff like Hakuna Matata and Bare Necessities. And it certainly is so much better when you sing along and do the voices. Changes my stress levels instantly. Well, also I listen to some songs from Phineas and Ferb, like Gitchee gitchee goo or something. And something like In the Summertime by Mungo Jerry. And well, Beatles does the job, too Anything that's foot tapping I can sing along to

~Through the wind and the rain she stands hard as a stone
In a world that she can't rise above.
But her dreams give her wings and she flies to a place where she's loved.

Concrete Angel

"And so I grew from colt to stallion
As wild and as reckless as thunder over the land.
Racing with the eagle, soaring with the wind.
Flying? There were times I believed I could."

Hmm, that's a good question! I rely on lyrics and visuals (like music videos) as the word/beats themselves have no impact on me. I like the lyrics to Fight Song by Rachel Platten but the music vid is just meh. I know there are people who feel this way about the music vid. Another one I like is "Sing" by My Chemical Romance. I don't know if there's a music video, but there's a lyrics video on Youtube.

I also like music with low base, because the vibrations actually gives me something to feel especially if I'm feeling numb or meh.
