What type of music do you go to sleep to? - May 12th 2011, 03:30 AM

What type of music do you go to sleep to? Well, I tend to really like going to sleep while listening to rock and alternative metal (Like System of a Down type metal) I don't get why and find it odd to go to sleep to such an energetic and powerful type of music.

Aww, love this thread. I tend to fall asleep to softer stuff that's really pretty.
So, piano music. Imogen Heap is a really good example. <3

I saw listened to these songs a few months ago.

Its a piano version of a Celtic song.
Cafe Del Mar - Light Of Aidan - Lament- piano cover

Also, another one:

The Road (Soundtrack) - 02 The Road

And if you like guitar. Here is another one:

Sun Kil moon, Heron Blue

I like soft piano music. One of my favorites right now is called Cristofori's Dream. <3

I can also listen to some of Jack Johnson's softer, slower songs. I love him

Classical... yes.. I know strange
But I love Moonlight Sonata by Beethoven.
Also I like listening to Two Steps from Hell. They do lots of soundtracks to movies. They have done films like Pirates of the Caribbean and I Am Legend.

I can't sleep unless I'm in complete silence, but when I wanna just chill out I usually listen to some Radiohead or anything with a piano in it.

"Once a little boy sent me a charming card with a little drawing on it. I loved it.
I sent him a card and I drew a picture of a Wild Thing on it. I wrote,
“Dear Jim: I loved your card.”
Then I got a letter back from his mother and she said, “Jim loved your card so much he ate it.”
That to me was one of the highest compliments I’ve ever received. He didn’t care that it was an original Maurice Sendak drawing or anything.
He saw it, he loved it, he ate it."

I listen to rap music while I'm trying to sleep. Eminem, Tupac and Lil Wayne being the usuals. Sometimes I listen to Paramore and 30 Seconds To Mars as well. I have really weird taste in music, i know ¬¬

If I'm already exhausted, I'll put on some of the softer works of Mozart, Bach, Handel, Brahm or Beethoven. If I feel a bit edgier, I'll go for slightly more lively jazz from Coltrane, Davis or Moore.

If I'm dead tired, it doesn't matter what I listen to, I'm going to sleep. When I have trouble sleeping, I'll put on classical music or some soft music, such as Lotus Feet by Steve Vai or Another Brick in The Wall by Korn. Being odd as I am, I also find Wadaiko Yamato when played softly to be relaxing. Playing it at my father's computer where he has amazing sub-woofers doesn't get you to sleep, it pumps you up like a cattle prod in the arse.
