Red Dwarf! - April 12th 2009, 07:59 PM

Omg, anyone watching the brand new episodes of Red Dwarf?

I own all the DVDs ... and completely fangirled when I saw that new episodes were coming on Dave (satellite TV channel)

Anyone else watching? Last episode (part 3 of 3) is on tonight.

i really didnt like the first 2 parts they were boring and did not include audio laughter the plot is just stupid and its never going to live up to how it was in the 80's/90's i love red dwarf but it should of stayed in the past.

I haven't seen part 3 yet. It is recorded.

I thought the first two parts were ok. I expected to much although I did know it would never be as good as the old series'.

agreed with the "it was rubbish without audience laughter"

I suppose they've taken a chance by making new episodes ... and yeah, the old ones will definitly be the best. These can never live up to them, but they seem okay so far

It looks too new as well with all the CGI and green screen.

I liked the fact that the old ones were obviously old. The had really bad cheesy graphics and special effects but that made it good and funnier.

Re: Red Dwarf! - April 13th 2009, 01:02 AM

All 3 are repeated tomorrow on Dave at 9 I think.

I watched them all, the first I thought was pretty poor but the other two were better, it was an interesting plot and pretty well done. Obviously it was never going to live up to the old episodes.
Spoiler:
it was good how they brought in the squid :]

It was rather odd without the laughter

Re: Red Dwarf! - April 13th 2009, 10:17 AM

I have now watched the 3rd and I think it all worked out quite well. I liked carbug and the whole corrie link

The 1st was definitely the weakest but they had to set up the story, so overall I thought it was good, not as amazing as the old ones but still pretty good.

Also they have left the scene wide open for another series.

I thought they were quite dissapointing- the CGI and lack of laughter track really took away from the 'Red Dwarf Mood'.

Ha. I probably will be forced to soon. My boyfriend LOVES that show. I think it's ok but nothing spectacular, only seen the 1st few episodes, though. I bet he'll make me watch more, lol.
