Have you moved the files? If so, you will need to re-import them, then delete the ones that don't work.

Has someone else moved them?

Either the songs have viruses *but I don't think itunes would detect this anyway*
or
They have been moved?

Just re-import them.. should work

Do a search for one of the songs you know that is missing, if they were all stored together, chances are they're hidden somewhere together too...

If you downloaded them through LimeWire, the songs will be stored in LimeWire's default folder. If you look at LimeWire's options, you will find the default save locations.
If the songs aren't in that folder, check your recycle bin - they might be in there.
Once you've found the song, double-click the grey exclamation mark next to the song in iTunes, and select to find the file. Then just use file browser to go to the song.

Please note - by using LimeWire to download copyrighted music, you are breaking the law, and you are exposed to an abundance of malicious software that can damage your computer.

Also... If you do find all of your file, and there are a lot of them, rather than having to locate each one individually... go to file->import or something like that, and select the folder that their in... That way itll move them all back in. HOWEVER it will have created a duplicate copy, so you will need to delete them from your iTunes library first... but only the ones youre going to import... If that makes sense

How can one love themselves, when they love absolutely nothing?
Do something that is interesting. If it is not interesting, find out why it is not interesting.

iTunes has a duplicate checker.
File > "Show Duplicates".

Darn you, Janos! xD

I'd sing you a song, but I'm feeling quite off
in my heart; it's occupied,

and now's not the time.
