Phone not charging. - May 20th 2010, 10:26 PM

I have a Sony Ericsson C903 and for some reason, it won't charge. I connected it earlier today and it'd say charging and then stop charging so I'd have to fiddle with the thing to get it to continue to charge. I checked it a few hours later and it was on 3% battery which makes no sense as it was on charge for a while. I've left it to continue charging and it says it is but still sticking at 3%. I don't get why, I had a similar problem a few days ago when I left on charge over night and when I got up, the battery was dying so I had to reconnect it and charge it up again.

Anyone know why it's doing this and if there is anything I can do to fix it?

Could it not be a loose connection in your wire?

Maybe get a new charger from a phone store?

Yeah, I'm thinking it's most likely your charger, either the transformer or the copper in the wire is broken.

But new chargers arn't too dear thankfully =).

This is actually pretty common. Plugging and unplugging your phone repeatedly (which is unavoidable) damages the connections inside your phone. It's quite possible that your phone itself is damaged, by nothing you did wrong. If that's the case, you'd have to replace your phone. However, if you can, try a different charger first, in case it's damaged, and is much cheaper than replacing a phone. Often the store can check for you.
