Macbook - December 8th 2010, 02:06 PM

I've decided I am going to save up for a macbook. I've looked up the new Macbook Air and now realise it doesn't have a CD drive I know it's wireless and will find and use a CD on another computer/laptop but I think that's silly :| Why doesn't it just have a CD drive of it's own? I watch a lot of DVDs and burn a lot of things on my laptop. I know the older macbook has a CD drive as my friend has one. I'm going to buy the older macbook. I'm just wondering now if Mac have any other silly things like no CD drives on the older mac books before I cough up loads of money.

Because it's practically like a netbook. Which doesn't have a disc drive either. You could get an external disk drive. Or just get a MacBook pro which does have one.

I think the MacBook pros are all up to date. And they're not necessarily 'older' as I'm sure new ones have recently been released. They're just different to the airs. Just as good as each other. As for what features it has, check out the apple website.

I'm saving up fir an iMac

Don't get a MacBook Air! The previous model completely crashed and burned. Apple are giving the new one a lot of talk but I reckon it's going to be just as bad.

You're far better of getting a normal MacBook or MacBook Pro. I have the 13" Pro and it does me just fine.

It may take awhile, but it's so worth it

I got my Macbook Pro in February 2009 (cuz I wanted the 17" unibody model ) and it's so amazing

The Airs just look... wrong.

I would REALLY like a macbook pro but I am kind of cheap I suppose if I save up 800 I may as well save up a bit more to get the pro. Or I could flatter my eyelashes to my daddy for the extra money

I have a MacBook White (ie one of the normal ones), and it's great. I would say that the reason the MacBook Airs don't have CD drives is because they are too thin to have one.

Are you a student? You get 10% discount if you are.

And Apple do, do payment plans for their laptops. You end up spending a hell of a lot more. But if you're desperate or terrible at saving money, it can work for some people.
