Iphone issue -
July 7th 2011, 06:04 PM
I have an IPhone 3g. Recently when I charge my phone using an USB cord an alert will pop up that says charging is not supported with this accessory. If I unplug it and replug it, it works again. But after a little bit it'll pop back up and I'll have to redo the same thing again.
My old USB cord stopped connecting my phone to my Itunes for some reason. So I just went and bought another and it connects it but that alert keeps popping up again so I can't sinc anything. Also my battery sucks big time. My other friends have IPhones as well and don't have this big of an issue. I have to charge mine in my free time because it's always going dead. Does anybody know why these things are happening? ![]() |

Try using a friend's charger. If that doesn't work, I'd suggest you take your iPhone to a local Apple store to have a Genius take a look at it. If it does, buy a new one.
I thought about you for the rest of the day. Catching my head turning to find you again. I hated myself for it. |

Like what the guy said before me, try to use a friends/family's cord. Or if possible try to use a different computer or try another usb port, sometimes USB drives might be damaged or sort and not be able to read.
If none of the that works, then like said before. Go to your local apple store and make an appointment at the genius bar. You can make a appointment now online. Click Here for the webpage and on the right you should see a section where you can make your online appointment. The genuises at the apple store are really friendly and helpful. As a heads up then can get pricey though. Good luck! |

the iPhone 3G is getting quite old now. How long has it been in use? That could explain your poor battery. Also the cord you bought; is it an Apple cord? If it's a 3rd party cord that might be why it doesn't work as well.

As the people before me said, it could be an issue with your cord, the computer you are using, or it could just be your iPhone.
If the battery isn't lasting long, then that is the phone's battery and in your case it is most likely because the phone is old. UNLESS you are constantly running applications, using an application that eats the battery, and such, that would run the battery down. As people have suggested, try a friend's cord and see if it plugs into a different computer. To make things simple, you can just go into the Apple store to see what the problem is, but I'd say try a different computer and cord first if those are easily accessible. Leave the past behind, just walk away When it's over, and the heart break And the cracks begin to show *~*~This little girl was alone in the world~*~* Hold Onto Hope |

I actually work for iphone tech support! What you going to want to do is try
- ANother cord - Clear the headphone and or dock connector of any dust or other debre. (this can cause the charging is not supported with this accessory message.) - If none of this things work try backing up your phone and doing a restore as new. IF the problem persists then it is a hardware problem. - Also check to see if the phone is still under warranty or if you have an Apple Care Protection Plan. About the battery - There is not much you can do about the battery life other then to make sure to closes out all apps when not is use. The cost to get the battery replaced if the phone is OUT OF WARRANTY is $79 or to get the whole phone replaced it is $199 Hope this helps! Things do get better in time. I used to believe that things would never get better. But after many long years things are looking up! So don't ever give up! Stay strong and move on! Things WILL get better! Make my day let me help you. PM me anytime![]() ![]() |
