i asked my daddy. do you have the paper work with the router? there should be a IP address and login informtaion. p/w is normally admin. you can change that to when you log in. when you log into router there should be a secure router page. you can pick numbers/letters up to 26 digiits i think to secure it. if that dont help. i can ask him again.

Most standard routers nowadays have all the login information printed on the router device itself, simply look on your router for any login information. Through your browser you want to go to one of these two addresses (you'll know which one if you found the info on your router): 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1

If you're unable to find your login information, this site will help: http://portforward.com/

Once you've logged onto your router look for a heading such as Wireless Setup; or anything related to Wireless. Then for security options chose WPA-2.

No, that does not help much. Could you please tell us your modem's brand name and make model? If you have a router, please tell us what you have, too.

For examples: Netgear CG3000D modem and Linksys WRT120N router.

That would be much more helpful. Thanks!

If you look up what type of router you have, as VoidZN said, you can find an online manual for it. There is a section that will tell you how to change/enable passwords for your wireless.
I had to do this for mine and I did something like this: found the IP address that was in the manual, logged in with generic information that they gave (I believe the password was admin), changed the log in info, went to a section for passwords, changed the type of security (WPA, WEP, etc) and created a password. Once the password was saved and all changes were applied, you can then test it out by using another computer and seeing if when you connect if you have to enter a password.

If you aren't completely sure what to do, you can always call the company of your router and ask where to look or what to do.

Leave the past behind, just walk away
When it's over, and the heart break
And the cracks begin to show
