New laptop + link underlining ? -
October 19th 2011, 04:30 PM
Right yesterday I got a new laptop, its a Fujitsu, its great and has windows 7. Only problem is it's underlining words online, not spelling mistakes more words in general, the word will come up in red and have two lines underneath it, and when I click it it loads a page explaining what the word is, Basically what I want to know is how do I stop these words that appear anywhere on the internet from being underlined ? It seems like its to do with linking, but I am not sure how to stop it from doing it as this underlining thing is making it hard to read things. I use google chrome. But its not just when I type its anywhere on the internet words on this site are like it . Any solutions ?

I think with some webpages, it does this automatically. I don't normally have words underlined on pages unless it is an article or something.
You can check the settings of your browser...but it could be something that certain webpages do on their own--as in it might not be your computer. What types of webpages are the words underlined on? Leave the past behind, just walk away When it's over, and the heart break And the cracks begin to show *~*~This little girl was alone in the world~*~* Hold Onto Hope |

They are underlined on here (never used to be underlined on my old laptop on here) and on a few other sites too. Which is why I'm thinking its more my laptop than my browser as I am using the same browser as I used on my old laptop.

The squiggly red line ( underline ) on Google Chrome - how to get rid of it ?
How do I switch off the feature where some typed words are underlined with a squiggly red line, using Google Chrome ? Thankyou.
Peter Best Answer - Chosen by Asker 1: Go to options. Select the under the hood/bonnet option and scroll down until you get to the button that says "Change front and language settings" Go to the 'Languages' tab and unhook "Spell Check" 2: Right click in a field where you can write (the search field of google.com works), select spell checker options and go to the 'language settings..' option. Go to the 'Languages' tab and unhook "Spell Check" The red squiggly line is for when you have typed something wrong. If the spell checker is in a different language than the one you are typing in then a different way of fixing this would be to download the correct language pack. Found this on Yahoo Answes, I hope it helps |
