eyebrows!! - December 21st 2009, 08:35 PM

Ok so I've always been horrible about trying to fix my eye brows. What's like a good process to get good eye brows. Like how much do you pluck. And how high should the arch be ect. ect.
Thanks everyone!

I go to an electrolasis (spelling?) person.
she just like, zaps out the hairs. It doesn't hurt too much and she knows what she's doing, so I don't ahve to worry about it. It's pretty expesive, though.

I pluck mine once a week. I don't pluck a lot I just touch them up sometimes I forget and then I have to pluck a lot. I don't the arch should be that high or else u will look like u are always surprised lol try drawing lines wear u want ur eyebrows to be (draw it with a eye makeup pencil) that way you can see what they will look like and you have a guideline for when you are plucking.

get them professionally waxed. when you're done, they look pretty much awesome and it doesn't hurt a ton. I don't believe it's particularly expensive--not as expensive as other procedures.

Re: eyebrows!! - December 22nd 2009, 12:35 AM

Cheyenne is right, waxing is a cheap way to have them done professionally.

I like the idea of drawing with an eye pencil (very clever and I wouldnt of ever thought of that) I havent tried it yet but its worth trying.

I think it depends on your eyebrows, how thick they are etc and exactly how much you want to get rid of... and also some people go for a certain 'look' or 'style' to suit them. Also everyone has different taste and preferences so I think its good to get that clear before you start so you know what your aiming for.

Best advice anyone gave me... keep stopping, step back and look at your whole face in the mirror. Do this often so you dont pluck away too much! And so you keep an eye on the whole shape and make sure that both sides are the same.

What I tend to do is have them done professionally when I can (which isnt very often) and pluck in between.
That way I use the shape they have given me as a guide and just pluck what starts growing that shouldnt be there.

I get mine waxed at a salon , it's quite cheap & not too painful.
Then I just pluck away the stray hairs until I go again to get them waxed.
I wouldn't trust myself to shape them myself :P

Although threading can be done anywhere on the face, it's best known for its precise eyebrow shaping. I personally love threading, but some people have told me they don't like it all. So I want to hear from you. Weigh in on what you think of the results and experience:

Waxing is a good idea, but if you don't want to pay then just pluck.
A good way is to get a pencil and place it at the side of your nose so it's pointing up towards your eyebrow, where it touches the eyebrow is where the hair should start if that makes sense. And as for the arch just pluck little bits till you find a shape you like.
Look at some pictures and see what shape you think would suit you. Or you can do what I did, is get them waxed into a good shape, and just keep plucking when the hairs grow back so it's not a monthly expense, just a one off [:

Re: eyebrows!! - December 22nd 2009, 02:56 PM

I've had mine plucked in a salon - OUCH -but worth it. Twas only like 5.

Like Lou said above me, line a pencil up with the side of your nose. Don't take hairs away from the top of your eyebrow - always shape from the bottom =]

Try and keep them even :P

- I went and had them prof done and shaped, and now I just keep it up at home =]

Re: eyebrows!! - December 22nd 2009, 03:37 PM

I just let my eyebrows be--sometimes it's not worth the trouble of constantly maintaining, and honestly (unless it's really bad) I don't think anyone's going to be like "omigosh did you SEE her eyebrows??"

That's what they say when you do it wrong, I guess.

I get mine waxed. It's fairly cheap but painful!! Then again mine don't grow back very thick now, so they're far easier to maintain ... plus it hurts less than when I started.
I would recommend it over plucking anyday

Re: eyebrows!! - December 22nd 2009, 09:53 PM

I pluck mine occasionally, although not very well. it's kinda painful, and I struggle to do it very well. I do mine so that they're kinda straight, and go thinner at the tips.

Re: eyebrows!! - December 22nd 2009, 10:02 PM

I fail at plucking my eyebrows. I can shape them properly but my eyes tear up (I don't cry...they just tear) and it's all painful and stuff :P My mom went to beauty school and stuff so she just waxes my eyebrows (and boy do they ever need waxing now...) and it works out. It hurts but only for like 2 seconds :P
