Where to shop online? - January 9th 2010, 05:04 AM

So, I got a prepaid Visa for 50 dollars this Christmas, and haven't yet spent it.
I'm thinking I would like to look for clothes online, but I'm not 100% sure where to start.
I'm into pretty much any type of clothing, just not anything extremely feminine (I'm not a Victoria's Secret type gal, for instance).
So, just wondering if anyone has any suggestions?

Asos.com.

It's from the UK, so you have to dish out for shipping... but there's so much stuff there. And there's a sale going on.

And American Apparel

A description of your style would make it easier to recommend shops.

I suppose that would help a little, lol. Well I really like to get clothes at the Gap, Old Navy, etc. So I guess it would be sort of on the preppy side. Problem is, though, most of the clothes at a lot of the stores I find super cute cost an arm and a leg. I mean, SIXTY DOLLARS for a shirt?

Thank you for all of the suggestions, guys! It looks to me like you all have great taste in clothes.

Big fan of gap. I wish Zara had a functional online shop.. they have some cute not-too-expensive stuff on their website. Also, don't be daunted by just trying Gap.com. I think if you shop at Gap, old navy, and piperlime at the same time online you can save money on shipping, or something.

I am leaning towards caving and getting something from the gap. I do really like the UK sites I was linked to, like boohoo and asos, but unfortunately the former doesn't ship to the US and the latter will cost a bit once I add on the shipping charges. But it's looking like I'm going to be spending quite a bit no matter where I choose to buy from, since I guess I just have expensive taste.

Yeah, yeah, I know where you're coming from. I like things that just happen to, uh, be expensive. Why? Because it's not fair. But I'm a sale hunter. You could try something like overstock, too, if you have something in mind but want to find it cheaper.

ah, I want 50 dollars to kill

This is a great time of year to find sales. Gap, American Eagle, Express, etc. are all having sales right now. If you just want something more general, I'd just try a department store.

Re: Where to shop online? - January 10th 2010, 08:06 AM

I actually found a website online called ESPRIT, which I had never heard of before, but you can shop their outlet store online, and they've got super cute shirts only ten dollars and up I've never ordered anything from there before, though, so I'm not sure. Anyone heard of it, or purchased anything there in the past?

Re: Where to shop online? - January 10th 2010, 07:27 PM

Mm ESPRIT is ok, but if it's a plain old knit basic shirt, I wouldn't blow more than 7 or 8 dollars on it. Maybe even 5.

Is there an expiration date on the card? Because there's not much pressure to find something now and I think it's kind of fun to go shopping casually knowing you have a 50 dollar trick up your sleeve if you really, really want something.

I like forever21.com. Fortunately for you, shipping will be rather cheap, but seeing as i live in the UK shipping was like 30 alone for me, but it was worth it as i just HAD to have this particular scarf. Oh great now it makes me seem superficial, haha. I'm not, honest :P. Anyway i hope you find what you're looking for. Asos is another great one btw, i love shopping online from there

& it's just like she's in another world.
