I don't feel that fashionable.. - June 3rd 2011, 05:47 PM

(I just typed out a whole long thing and then accidentally got rid of it.. )

Anyway, hi
Basically, I need new ideas on clothes I could get, and a new hairstyle.
I like band tee's like the beatles, and military boots, and basically vintage stuff.
Everyone I know seems to follow the crowd, and if that works for them, thats fine, but I hate doing it, because as soon as something else becomes fashionable, no one will wear what you just got - a vicious cycle really.
I mainly wear jeans and either my military boots or white van type things. I don't really have any tops that can make that look different and interesting.
As for my hair, its always straight - I can't curl it because its really damaged from curling it before. I'm trying to grow it longer. I have a side fringe with layers, but I need to keep those long because of ballet.
Any ideas?
Thanks

As far as hair I think what you describe is fine. You could try and freshen it up by getting it trimmed and a little bit choppy layered or throwing some new color in.

As far as clothing you could wear. Are you trying to keep it in the style of what you like but a bit more fashion forward? If so you could try looking at stores like Target, they have a lot of graphic T's that are vintagey and they some times have band T's like the Beatles and such. You could always throw some jewlerey into the mix. You just have to search around stores like Target or Hot Topic or even sometimes Clairs and they have vintagey rough type jewlery.
You could also start wearing statement headband pieces or clips.

Thanks for the reply
I live in England, so I suppose I can't shop in Target
When I came to america for a holiday, i got my brother some Beatles t-shirts and he loved them. He styled them and stuff, so maybe I should try that too? & I think it is about time for a new haircut - is it supposed to be like every 6 weeks? Should I try having waves? I used to love doing that too, because it seemed fresh, and especially because its summer now.
Thanks for the ideas, I'll keep them in mind

I don't know what type of stores England has but Im sure there are stores similar to that. If you want to try and style them or have his help on it that would be great too!
I think waves would be good especially with it being summer. You could get it thinned if you have thick hair and that would help too.
You don't really have to get a hair cut every six weeks but you are supposed to get it trimmed every six weeks.

I do ask for help, but being my brother and all, it doesn't happen often.
I actually went out saturday and got a new top, a pair of shoes and some shorts, so I feel better now.
And yeah, I meant trimmed.

Topshop, Selfridges, French Connection, River Island, H&M, Newlook, Primark, Debenhams. They're some stores that I went to alot when I lived in England for a while.

Your hair sounds fine, you can get heat-protectant spray. I reccommend this one, it's amazing. http://cdn1.shopperhive.co.uk/n/auss...protection.jpg
The Brand is Aussie, you can get it in drugstores. You can get shampoo from them aswell.
