Make Up? -
July 19th 2011, 06:01 AM
I don't know if this is the right section, but if not feel free to move. I just want to get the word out there!
My boyfriend has inspired me to act on the idea of girls wearing less make up. He tells me how he prefers little to no make up and wishes people would do that. I completely agree, so I have formed a Facebook group. It is open and I invited people to join--please do not come and bash it. I am making events for the dates that I am going to challenge people to go a day without make up, so feel free to join in!!!! http://www.facebook.com/pages/A-Day-...39459942804058 As a side note, what are opinions about make up? Leave the past behind, just walk away When it's over, and the heart break And the cracks begin to show *~*~This little girl was alone in the world~*~* Hold Onto Hope |

I haven't worn make up in three years. I'm much prettier without it.
and if you should hear the cries and calls through the thinnest of the walls don't you get yourself so blue it's just the sound of me getting over you |

Make Up-EDIT -
July 19th 2011, 03:29 PM
I had originally posted a thread/article about trying to get A Day Without Make Up going. This would be a day-well I'm hoping to do events throughout the years to come-where girls/anyone are challenged to wear no make up what so ever (chap stick is an exception).
I had made a group on Facebook, but I changed it to a page. Here is the new link: http://www.facebook.com/pages/A-Day-...39459942804058 I cannot comment on my last post either...so hopefully they see the change! I think that sometimes, less is more.
There are plenty of girls I know at school(most being friends) who'd look much better with almost no makeup, rather than practically caking it to their face like some do. Myself, I only wear eyeliner. Maybe a bit of mascara on occasion. Only started wearing makup a year ago. I see no reason to wear more. I think the group/page is a nice idea, but listening to girls I know I think it'd be rather difficult to find a relatively large number who'd willingly wear less/none. ♪♫"The mirror only shows The shell of what's below You can't go on suffering The illusion of control It's time for letting go You can't go on suffering And now you know Now you know"♪♫ 'Now You Know' - 2Cents Things get better. I wear it every once and a while. But day to day I really don't -- Only at a formal event. It's too much of a hassle and I look better without it.

That's pretty cool.
But I often go without any make up, so it doesn't really apply... It wouldn't be a challenge for me. xD |

I typically wear light makeup. I wear makeup to where it's not really noticeable that I'm wearing it. I've gone without makeup before and I don't really have a problem going without it, but I prefer wearing it.

I only wear a small amount of foundation/cover up and eyeliner on most days. Some I just do one or the other or none.
I had a few interesting comments, personal views, and arguments going on. One of these included how makeup is essential to look professional-background story was that makeup and business attire was not worn to work and the girl was asked to make herself more presentable. When I was eleven I wore a little bit of make-up but then I didn't even put more on until I was thirteen. I use to only wear eyeliner on my bottom lid but now I wear it on both, eyeshadow, cover-up, and concealer. Most of the make-up I use it pretty natural looking, light browns and pinks for eyeshadow, cover-up that is the same skin-tone as mine, brown and black eyeliner. Sometimes I'll draw little designs bridging out from my eyes with different colored eyeliners, but that is the only time I use anything but brown or black.
And sometimes I'm just too lazy to put any on, like today. ![]() I personally think I look better with make-up on, but I don't think I look terrible without. hear us sing! ![]() you will draw from the silence the things you ask strength, hope, and the courage to grow. ♥ |

I rarely wear make up these days, I just can't really be bothered with it xD
When I do wear it I tend to only wear eyeliner and mascara, sometimes eyeshadow and foundation if I'm going out somewhere special. ![]() |

That was the Harroods story right? My opinion of that is it was the rules, Harrods is about being perfect, if you have the money to shop there, you must be perfect (according to them) and this includes staff looking good so customers feel in with their own. It wouldn't do to look really awful, and some lucky ones can look good withour make up, but Harrods SAYS IN THE DRESS CODE you must wear some! And this is not unreasonable, would you walk into a posh resturant wearing trakkies and a vest? No, and it is the same with make up at Harrods, it is what is expected. I wear make-up, I look bad without it, but only eyemake up as I don't need foundation. |

I usually wear light concealer to cover up blemishes, and different varieties of eye makeup, depending on my mood
I can understand feeling weird about really HEAVY make up, but I personally have fun with eye make up and don't wear enough base to clog my pores/look greasy, so I don't see anything wrong with it. I understand, "It's not natural" and all that, but it's really no big deal, except it sometimes looks gross if people use like a pound of it. I think everyone has the potential to look pretty without make-up, but whether you feel like it or not is no biggie.
