Ball dress ... -

So I have a ball coming up. I say ball it's just like a big formal dinner at my accommodation at uni. Apparently most of the girls wear their formal dresses, but I don't have mine and I didn't really like it. So, considering a lot of girls will be wearing their school formal dresses is this dress nice enough? (pics below) I go through phases of loving and hating this. Mainly because I'm used to wearing things a bit shorter, and it's a different style to what I usually wear. I do love it most of the time ... So does it look OK (again see pics below). I only have black heels with me here, open ones, closed ones and shoe/boot ones. But I have a feeling they look a bit clumpy with this dress as it's fairly vintigy etc. Any idea about what shoes might go nicely? (I'm in Aus so preferably affordable aus stores but I can always look for look alikes .. I don't even have a clue what colour to go with right now!!!)
First one is me in the dress, second one is to show the colour accurately as the first one wasn't too good ... sorry they're big I'm rubbish at resizing!!

I actually think you look gorgeous in that dress, I definitely think it'd be okay to wear this dress
 I think black heels would look fine with this dress as well, black goes with everything but if you fancy something different then perhaps try some gold heels since red and gold look pretty good together.  |

I love the dress, it's cute. As for shoes I'd say black high heels would look good with it

You look absolutely stunning.
I think a nice nude shoe would look great with that dress. I am sorry I wouldn't know where to get shoes in Australia but perhaps you could shop through a friends closet for shoes to borrow. Always remember to put your happiness first.

No need for you to spend money on new shoes, I think black ones would be perfect.

... $130 is a BIT out of my price range though  plus I can't excuse them as I couldn't wear them with anything else ...I may hunt friends wardrobes for similar / nude ones, and fall back on black if all else fails
