Fashion Emergency! :)

Hey guys!

I'm in a bit of a dilemma. On October 8th, I'm going to a wedding with my boyfriend and his family. I've never met this particular family member or his fiancee before, so I'm already nervous about it. I have met several other family members that will also be attending.

My issue is: I'm not sure what to wear. The wedding ceremony takes place at a hockey rink (Both people getting married play ice hockey, and they'll be getting married on the ice hockey rink's ice). And, afterwards, there will be a free hour of ice skating while they take photo's and such. The reception takes place at a different venue, so I'm trying to dress appropriately.

I have this cute dress, it's a sweater dress, and it's appropriate for weddings, and I'm thinking that might be my best bet. I can't go out and buy anything new, except for maybe a new pair of shoes. My question is: should I wear leggings and/or tights underneath. I don't want to make a fool of myself if I fall down :P

I'd say go for tights, they'd look a bit more formal than leggings

I found some great tights. I was in a bit of combustion when I got to that aisle though. SO. MANY. TO. CHOOSE. FROM. First, I looked at some leggings, but couldn't find any that went lower than the knee. Lame? Yes. But, I got to the tights aisle, and found some great choices. But, stupid me, bought the wrong pair I found a great pair that went down to the ankle and stopped. They were my size as well. I was comparing them to a different type I found, and I accidently bought the second one instead of the pair I wanted. Either way, the tights worked great, and my outfit looks amazing.

You see, normally I would do just that. But, I bought a pair of 'just under the knee' boots as well, and I think the sweater dress would look silly if I took them off

This is a picture of me in the sweater dress from a few weeks ago. Was going out on a Friday, and wanted to try something new. Basically, I'd be wearing the same thing in this photo to the wedding, but I'd be wearing tights instead of leggings (which I'm wearing in this picture) and my new boots, instead of the heels ones in this picture.

I absolutely love the sweater dress. It looks awesome on you. I would definitely with everyone about wearing tights. The boots are awesome also. (Both sets )

As someone who has been on the ice a lot, I would personally recommend leggings. I found ones that go all the way to my ankles are target... You're going to look like a fool shivering when it appears everyone else knows ice hockey and knows to dress warm. Hell, I was wearing leggings and a skirt to a game recently, and I was only a few rows up from the ice, and still cold.

Also, definitely don't wear heels. You'll die. I mean, the heels look pretty and all. But you don't want to fall. So I'd go with the boots you bought instead of the ones in the picture, like you said

I never said I was going to wear the boots in the photo. My plan was ALWAYS to wear the boots that I had bought. If you look at what I had written when I posted the photo

you'll see that I always planned on wearing the low heeled boots instead of the high heeled boots.
I BOUGHT them specifically for this event (and for obvious other reasons). Also, I'm not going to go waste more money on leggings since I already went out and bought the tights. They're fine. I have worn them before in the cold, and wasn't freezing or shivering like you say I will.
