Court House Wedding Dress -

I'm not sure if this goes here... But....
I'm getting married next month. Its nothing big or fancy. It will be at the court house. But i want it to be exciting. I dont want to just go in with like normal clothes on... I mean... I'm getting married! I just bought a $400 prom dress- its strapless, beautiful purple that changes into blue, more of a ballroom dress, really poofy. and i wanted to know if that dress would be okay to wear. People already think im crazy for getting married so young and i didnt want to be over dressed or underdressed. Everyone keeps telling me just to dress nice but i love this dress and this is an oportunity to wear it. I wont get many other chances to wear it. What should I wear?  MelkNess |

Weddings are tainted with tradition and convention.
Wear what you feel right in, what YOU feel gives the right representation, what you feel makes you look beautiful. You could walk into the court house in your slacking wear and at the end of the day... That is the person your partner is spending the rest of his life with. Not some stunning, all white figure whose hair is pinned to perfection and all that. Seriously. Don't even think about what everyone else is doing. It's your day and you make it how you want it. |

Wear what will make you happy and what will make you remember that day. If you want to wear that dress, then go for it! Who says you have to wear white?

I personally prefer traditional wedding dresses, but I think you should wear whatever you want. If you want to wear that purple dress, then I think you should. It's your wedding, do it the way you want.

I personally like the idea of NOT wearing white, just to break the mold. I'm pretty sure I won't wear white on my wedding day. It's YOUR day, do what you want, don't pay attention to silly traditions. Just do something that when you look back on that day, it will make you smile.

I want a more traditional wedding dress, but I totally admire bold. It is YOUR day. Wear what YOU want.
