Question Bangs/fringe help? - June 22nd 2013, 03:13 AM

Hi guys
I just recently got full bangs. My hair is naturally curly, though when I brush it out it's wavy.
So, I was wondering what y'alls routine for straightening your bangs is? Should I use a flatiron or a blowdryer to straighten my bangs? Which way looks more natural? And how can I make sure it will last all day? (obviously rain/humidity is unavoidable)

Re: Bangs/fringe help? - June 22nd 2013, 04:38 PM

I have the same problem, always have, always will My hair has been curly since I was born (even if I didn't actually have any hair until I was 2), but I would just leave it curly. Until I decided in 8th grade I wanted straight hair, and I got a straightener.
I would suggest using some sort of heat-protection product, spray or gel or whatever, when your hair is still wet from showering, and then put a little more on if its been a while before you blow-dry it (which is what I do), and then use a flatiron. My first flatiron didn't actually work very well because it was very thick and my hair is sort of thin, so I got a new flatiron that is smaller and thinner, and it works much better, but with that you just kind of have to guess really.
Hair is stubborn, I know, we get you

For the other part of that now, the whole how will it last. Depending on the straightener, sometimes hairspray isn't even needed, though if your hair gets wet, hair-sprayed or not, it will probably get curly again like mine does. Humidity, I mean, hairspray and heat-protection would be best but my hair doesn't respond to humidity ever, so I wouldn't know on that one to be honest... but its all a guessing game until you have it figured out

Anyways, good luck
