How do I get this hair style? - February 14th 2010, 04:12 PM

How can I get my ends to be that stick straight and pointy? I have thick italian hair and my hair is nice straight, but i can never get the ends to look that way. How do I ask my hair stylist to do this? She cut my layers according to these pictures but I still don't know how they get their ends like that. No matter how many layers I have the ends still look even when straight. help pweaase&thankyou.

I Got my hairdresser to razor my ends, if there are all the same lenght at the bottom they don't go poke straight, where as if there are diff lenghts they do, and when straighting the ends keep the irons on for a little longer than usall I'm getting mine done like the blonde one

I think that they most likely have hair extensions in, like most girls with that style. That's why you can't get your hair to go that way, because it isn't natural for your hair.

I was going to say that. My sister used to have hair very similar to that and she could only do it with extensions in.
I'm pretty sure that the girl on the left in the pictures you posted has extensions in too, the bottom half of her hair just looks different to me.

I'm 99.999% sure they're wearing hair extensions. I had somewhat-smilar hair before (with extensions).

They're hair extensions. They look so thin and pointy because their natural hair ends around about their shoulders, so the long bits are the hair extensions, and they're not as thick as the natural hair, so it has that pointy effect.

Yup, like everyone has said the long bits of hair are extensions.

To get the top like that you have to back comb it and use a lot of hairspray.

I was almost positive they were extensions too but I didn't want to believe it lol. My hair is already ridiculously long and good extensions are just so expensive and imo it'd be retarded to go and chop off my hurr then get extensions. I guess i'll just ask my hair stylist to razor the ends more, but thanks gurlies.

yess definitely get the ends razored, it gives a less blunt look to your hair and will go some way to achieving the affect you want. also ask your hairdresser for some tips of what product you could use.

You don't always have to have extra fake hair to do that. I used to do that with my hair.
I had this hair paste cream. I just went to look, I dont have it anymore. But it was in a small round cylinder container, it was blue with a metal top. And I got that look.
I would straighten my hair, put that on my ends and straighten again.

Its basically this. But mine was in a blue container. If you get something like this you can do that.

So if you can find any kind of thick hair paste cream and if you have a straightner you can achive this look

I am thinking that you might not need hair extensions to do it. I mean, depending on the length of your hair it might be possible without.

What I would suggest you do is you take a picture or two of that style in to your hair person and tell them that that is what you want. They should either be able to do it or do something that would look a little bit similar.

Best of luck and I love that hairstyle

Yeah that's pretty much what my hair looks like in reference to the blonde girl with the layers, but next time i'll have her trim it the same way and just razor the ends.
