Exclamation to short and wrong colour. - October 10th 2010, 12:04 PM

Righttt, so basically, I found it my hair had snapped at the back which meant I had to have inches of so now it's like a bit longer that shoulder length. But I hate it. Makes me look horrible.

And my mum took me out to get hair dye to try make me like it more, but I think its to dark and it looks a bit fake and I don't like it

Sooo, I was wondering, if you guys had any tips to make me like it more? Like any hairstyles which I might like, more hair styles for hair up because I don't wanna wear it down, I hate it

Anything, will be great.
Thaankss.

EDIT: Okaaaay so now Im thinking about re-dying it but I don't want to ruin my hair again. And then its like its that dark, what colour would I do it?!

Hey Jessica.

Personally, I suggest going to a hair salon to get it re-colored. They could put highlights in it and everything to make it look more natural and you'd probably like it better than a straight solid color you get from a box. It'll cost a little more, but is cheaper in the long run than redying it yourself multiple times. A stylist can also give you tips on how to style it.

Get it cut, I hear having layers can make hair look lighter.
Also, you can choose a style you like.

If your hair's really dark your hair dye might not show up without bleaching it first.

Re: to short and wrong colour. - October 10th 2010, 02:10 PM

Oh dear. I wouldn't dye it again! If you've already got a dark dye on there, it either won't work, or won't have much of an effect! Your hair is going to be very dark the first week you colour it, but the more you wash it the more the colour will run out. But it's going to be very dark for a while because it'll still have a lot of the dye on it.

Whenever I get my hair done I always hate it for the first week, but I get used to it after a while. The more you tamper with it, the harder it'll be to fix it. Just try to get used to it for a while, wash it a lot to get rid of most of the colour (if it's too dark for you) or just wait for it to grow out a bit. And have a go at styling it yourself after you've washed it, and look at tutorials and pictures online for your hair shape and experiment with different things.

Message me if you want to talk some more, I know a bit about hair stuff xD

Blonde dye won't do anything, unless it's bleach. FYI

Jolly good. But like I said, just keep washing it intensively for a week and it will lighten up anyway

Yes yes yes, buy some really good conditioner. That is the best thing you can do for your hair right now from dying it twice, two completely different colors. Any type of blonde can be harsh but doing it on top of dying it so recently, you need some good conditioner.
If you go to a beauty store like sally's they have conditioner packets that are really good, you keep it in for a few minutes and then rinse.
