Lip Piercing? -
July 19th 2011, 02:45 AM
I'm thinking about getting my lip pierced. I think lip piercings are sexyyyy (lol). I'm talking about the ones that people get on the right or left side of their lips. Rings. http://www.flickr.com/photos/29489274@N05/2764602141/
Like that girl has! Only I would only be doing one side. I kinda wanna do my right side. But since my right nose is pierced, maybe I should do the left to balance my face out? In comparison to a nose piercing, how much does a lip piercing hurt? And for how long? Also, does it make it difficult to eat or kiss? What if both partners have a lip piercing? Thanks so much!

I think it would look best to get it done on the left side
![]() Some say that it hurt a lot to get it done and others say it barely did. It depends on your pain tolerance. I'd imagine it would hurt less than you nose since your nose is thicker and harder to get a needle through though. If you like it then do it regardless of pain

My lip was probably one of my least painful piercings. I'm terrified of needles, and honestly for me it was totally worth it because it's also my favorite. If you want to, definitely go for it and don't let pain hold you back.
My lip was probably swollen for 2 days or so? And it kind of hurt, but it wasn't unbearable, really wasn't bad as long as you take care of it right. I'd get the left side done. My lip piercings were my least painful of all of my piercings. They swell for a couple days but ibuprofen can help with that. Eating is only difficult the first couple days until you get the hang of it. I can't tell you how many times I bit down on it in the first day.

Personally I thought my lip hurt bad. But the piercer also told me that my skin started turning bright red when he barely had the clamps on. The only issue I had was eating was when it was just less then a week later and I was trying to eat corn on the cob, but one you get used to it, it's fine.

It Doesnt Hurt. Most Places Numb your lip. It Doesnt Make it Hard to Eat or Kiss, I have Both My Lip and Tongue. If Both Have it and its on the same side nothing really happens. I Hope you enjoy it.

I think I'm going to get it done for my 18th birthday. That's not until November, but it would be a nice thing to treat myself to. =P Plus I asked my mom and she's not too keen on it haha. And you have to have parental consent or be 18 to get it done around here (not sure about elsewhere). It's okay though, I don't mind the wait. It gives me more time to think about it too. =)

I would get the left side if I were you. From what I have heard, a lip piercing only hurts for a couple of days, which isn't bad at all. If you can handle a nose piercing, you can definitely handle a lip piercing. It may feel awkward to eat for a few days, but you will quickly get used to it. Don't kiss anyone until the lip ring is healed some so that bacteria isn't spread. Otherwise, you will be fine.
