I am sorry to say you probably won't get any positive replies.
1. Just make sure you are cleaning it with soap and water or piercing salt water.
2. Try to get a regular lip piercing in it as soon as possible.
3. Next time get it done right.

Since it is swelling, which is normal, make sure that the bar is long enough where it gives your lip room. That will speed up the healing and help it heal.
And as Ashley said, keep it clean. I recommend sea salt soaks, those work very well and are safe for both exits of the piercing.

thanks, and yes i think the bar i have is alittle short next time im in town im going to get a longer one, and the swelling is going down, and i don't have sea salt, and the other salt just makes the swelling bad again, so i have alittle shopping to do..

Don't use any salt unless it is pure sea salt, otherwise it will irritate your piercing even more.

My friend got snake bites with bars and let's just say they swelled and it didn't end well. Just keep a close watch on them just in case they swell too much.

You shouldn't use alcohol on fresh piercings. If you don't have sea salt or any uniodized salt, you can buy saline solution or wipes at the chemist.

Do you not have any piercing lotion? You can buy it from shops that do piercings.

I hope it heals okay <3

If you don't have sea salt you can use soap and water, make sure its anitbactiral soap like dial or something.

It also is good to use a very strong mouth wash as well.
