Ear lobe piercings -
September 29th 2011, 03:24 PM
I had my earlobes pierced about three or four years ago, and they still heal up really quickly. I went two days without earings in earlier this week and my right ear-lobe had healed over when I went to put the earing in; it needed 're-piercing' (shoving the earing through the newly healed bit, which bloody hurt) to get the earing in. I was just wondering if this is normal?
There's always light at the end of a tunnel, even if you have to pass a few bends to see it. ![]() Proud reciever of a glance from Kyo xD Mada tooi anataboshi |

I can leave earrings out for months and not have a problem.

If the holes close up that quickly after all these years, it might mean that they have never healed properly since they were pierced.
What metal do you wear in them? Try wearing at least 9ct gold earrings; they facilitate healing, whereas sterling silver and cheap metals don't. ![]() |

It sounds like your ears have never healed. I can leave my earrings out and have absolutely no problems at all. I agree with Jasmine that you should be wearing gold earrings to facilitate healing.

I've never had problems either. My grandmother hasn't worn earrings in years and they still haven't closed up.
