Hey, okay well i'm 13. I want to stretch my ear. I have two piercings on the ear lobe on both ears. I'm thinking of stretching the first one-which is the one closest to my head (only way to explain it)-should I stretch both sides? Also can you keep a taper in or should you take it out once you have stretched and put something else in like a plug?

Most of the people I know with their ears stretched replaced the taper with a plug after a couple minutes. With that said you're only 13 so I wouldn't get it done yet, it may seem like a good idea right now, but you never know down the road. If you are going to get it done I suggest going to a professional. Good luck

How big do you intend on going? I hope you do realize past a certain point it can not be completely reversed. I have a friend who has his stretched to 1 inch, and one of them ripped, so now his ear lobe is ripped in half, that is something you majorly have to be careful about. Make sure that you want to do this if you do it, and i highly recommend going to a professional and doing some research on this before you do it. Also Like the above said, most people i know replace the taper very soon after stretching.

I have mine streched to half an inch. it took a year and a half to do it the healthy way. if you are going to do it, dont skip any sizes. you can risk a blowout. i waited a few months between each size. Replace your taper with a plug right after sizing up. never force it. when your ear is ready it will go through smoothly. massage your ears with vitmin e oil and make sure you keep them clean. Dont start out with saddle plugs or double flared plugs. they are shapped different and you might have trouble removing them because the outter parts are wider then the middle part. www.earstretching.net is a good site to visit. its a forum all about strecting.
hope i helped. pm me for any questions. You gotta learn to live, laugh, and love. Especially live, even though sometimes it's the hardest thing to do.

I have my ears stretched to a 4 guage so far, and I'm going to 0 or 00, haven't decided yet.
Stretching the first lobe piercing you got is the most common (and in my opinion looks the best). Don't leave tapers in too long. I usually leave mine in for about an hour before switching to plugs so that my ears can recover a bit and it tends to make the switch easier. Leaving them in for too long can cause the hole to heal weird due to the taper sitting at an angle because one end is heavier. ![]() Buddy|Live Help Operator|HelpLink Mentor|Social Networking Team Relationships&Dating Mod|Lifestyle Mod|Media&Entertainment Mod Performance Committee |

Just be very careful with this and GO SLOW! If it hurts to put in a bigger gauge then its too soon. Also keep in mind that there is a point of no return. If you want them to heal back up to regular size dont go beyond a 0 or 00. I went to 5/8ths and my ears are stuck at like a 2 and i have had nothing in em for over 1.5 years!

Do as much research as possible. You could even go into a tattoo shop and ask their piercer for advice in person as they could explain it pretty well. Even though you are 13, they would want you to be informed and do this as responsibly and safely as possible so you don't tear your earlobe or get a blowout. Blowouts are caused by stretching up to quickly and forcing a plug or taper through your ear.
Some advice from a tattoo artist...I started around your age and like others have said, never skip sizes. Always wait at least a month for sizes up to 00, even longer for bigger sizes. After you get to the bigger sizes, you start wrapping the plugs with bondage tape (about two wraps at a time) to take you up to the next size slowly over time. Always be careful when stretching, never ever ever force a plug or taper through your ear. Clean your ears and plugs every day or every other day to avoid the "ear cheese" & smell that comes with it. Whenever I used tapers, I always put the plug in right after. Tapers are too uncomfortable and awkward to wear around for extended periods of time. I know I'm leaving stuff out so if you have any other specific questions, feel free to ask! |

My opinion personally here:
I think ear stretching is kind of gross, personally, and I see it as an unecessary amount of pain for a cosmetic function that could easily be "Outdated" in three to four years.l Hell, try it if you want but please god make sure you don't ruin your ears at age 13. Once your older you will be much more equipped to decide if this is really what you want. - Justin ![]() |

I personally don't know too much about ear stretching, other than to take it slow for the best results. But I do know that you have your own body, and you should do what you want. However, I also know that when I was 13, I thought I had a lot of great ideas that turned out not to be so great!
Again, however, gauges DO sink back to normal after awhile, so unless you plan on going really big, don't let people talk you out of it if it's what you want to do. I think anything under like... 2 or 0 will generally go back to a normal pierced ear. Maybe not as perfect as it was, but nothing a cute earring can't hide when you're older and need a job. ![]() Take me seriously. I dare you. |

I do agree with Kmadu 13 is kinda young. If you want to try it go ahead i would not go past 0 though, but it is your body you can do what you want to it but plz remember the changes can become permanent. Trust me i know from experience.
