Follow up story about the post I made earlier today on the 'Depression & Suicide' Forum. - December 8th 2011, 04:33 AM

After what had happened with my friend today I did end up going and telling my deputy prinicipal and she said she would orgainse for him to see a counsellor straight away. So, in last period of class a lady came and pulled me out of class for a second and she told me to grab my friend out of the class so he could go talk to someone. So, I went and did it then I left him to it. As school ended he found me and came up to me then hugged me and said thank you with a sigh of relief. That made me feel so good that he wasn't angry at me for going against his will but it was worth it. I am glad that this seems to all be now getting sorted out. I expressed to him that I didn't want to go home from school and just be worried all night and scared that he might turn and just kill himself. Then I would turn up at school the next day then get told by his sister, I would feel guilty for not saying anything sooner.
He understood where I was coming from and thanked me again.
It made me feel so good, I just saved someone from potentially ending their life.

That was a really smart decision that you made. I'm glad that you took action and did what was best for your friend. You should be proud of yourself.

Take good care. :-)

I am so glad that things worked out the way they did. You definitely did the right thing, and it’s wonderful that your friend could see why you did it and actually thanked you for it. You are a very good friend =)

Thank you, you do not know how much it means. I am so glad he doesn't hate me for it. He means so much to me and for him to turn around and thank me the way he did just made me feel accomplished. I mean, he was a little bit upset that I went against his will but he got over it quickly and is so glad I did.

You definitely did the right thing, and I'm so proud of you! That takes great courage. I had to do almost the same thing for my friend this year as well and I know that it's scary, but it's definitely worth it in the end. Good job. I'm glad it worked out for you.
