Spacing issue when posting - June 1st 2018, 04:35 AM

I have noticed when I am making a post or replying to one. When I go to make space between paragraphs or my thoughts it is like two or more enters of the keyboard but I only hit it twice.

I was wondering if there was a way I could fix it, or if anyone knows why this is happening. You can see what I mean above since it looks like I hit enter three times but I only hit it twice. Once to separate the text then another to have a little space between.

I'd actually noticed this recently and assumed it was just an error on my end. What browser are you using?

Re: Spacing issue when posting - June 1st 2018, 10:24 AM

I've noticed it periodically for a while now. Recently it's been constant. I did send Rob a PM about it. I don't think there is a way to fix it. I have been fixing it manually. I use firefox too so it's possible it's an issue with the browser.

I am trying it on Chrome right now and it doesn't seem to be doing it. I am going to try chrome for a bit. I've actually been meaning to give it a try since I have both chrome and fire fox.

It's possible Rob will be able to provide more information. Sorry I can't be more help. It seems like chrome is working fine though so it might be worth using.

Do you press shift+enter? I notice your post look like there's more space between paragraphs of text; however, Jenna's look like there's just one line of space between paragraphs of text. I always press shift+enter, something that began when I wrote essays for school on Microsoft word. Pressing "enter" without "shift" at the same time makes the space bigger.

The post I submitted on this thread was done via chrome so there wasn't any spacing issues. I intentionally did the spaces on the previous post.

I am currently using firefox and this is the result. I did an extra space to make a paragraph break but instead it added more then an extra space -- I hit enter once or twice and this is more like three times etc--. It's an issue that I've been having and it looks like others around the forum might be experiencing it too.

This is exactly what it does to me. I guess I will just have to deal with it. I also try to fix it after the post is made and it won't let me. I would use chrome but all my stuff is on firefox.

Do you mean your bookmarks and stuff like that? If so, when I went onto chrome for the first time it gave me an option to transfer all my bookmarks from firefox over to chrome. I am not sure how it was able to do it but it might be an option if it asks you the same thing. I don't know that I'll be switching either but I figured I'd mention what happened with the bookmarks the first time I used Chrome in case it is something you'd want to look into.

Hi all, I've started experiencing this issue a few days ago too. Nothing has been changed on TeenHelp would likely make this happen. I also use Firefox and it's interesting that everybody who is experiencing issues. I would hazard a guess this has been caused by a recent Firefox update - And hopefully they'll patch it in their next update. I'll look into other possible causes too. I wonder if anyone else has noticed issues on other websites that similar software to us?

I just checked another forum and I experienced the same issue there, so I think it's more likely a Firefox problem than a TeenHelp one.

I thought I was going crazy and it was just me, but now I see it is a lot of people. I'll be on the look out to see if it changes soon. Since I think it probably is a glitch in firefox since all of us have noticed it and use firefox I think you can close this unless you think it should stay open.

Since there's not really anything else to add at this stage, I'll close this thread for the moment.
