christmas presents for friends? - November 7th 2009, 08:22 PM

every year, i make a christmas present for my friends (i prefer not to buy because that ends up getting expensive) and i send cards to everyone. preferably it's something that can fit in a card envelope (because a lot of people i don't see, so i have to mail it) and is really personal. like i made bookmarks last year and personalized them for everyone. ideas?????

I want a moment to be real
Want to touch things I don't feel
Want to hold on, and feel I belong
And how can the world want me to change?
They're the ones that stay the same
They don't know me, but I'm still here

one that Iv done before is either a CD of music that you know they'll like (only really works if they have a bit of an interesting taste, like songs from musicals or something) or CDs of pictures of them with you and other friends and stuff.

Jajaja this may sound self centered but send a greeting picture of yourself and a little message on the back. Some friends from the USA do that and send me their pictures.

ouuu yay! homemade presents are the best :P

Personally I'm really big into pictures and that sort of thing. I think it'd be cool to make a collage of pictures of you and them or whatever. Or maybe a slideshow of pictures, or songs and such?

hm..I had more ideas before I posted haha but if I think of more I'll let ya know

I agree with Becca. You could make each one a collage of pictures and then get a frame from the dollar store or something? Those are always great.

You could try making them a necklace or a bracelet if you're into jewellery making. I was going to suggest giving them a photo album but that's a bit big to mail so why not make a slideshow or scrapbook on the computer.

the problem is that all of my pictures that i have of people are old...like 2 or 3 years old. I don't see a lot of these people often enough to have any cool pictures.

I agree with a lot of the suggestions already. I am a big fan of a cute homemade necklace or earring, but collages are ALWAYS lovely! Maybe you can send another bookmark with a collage this time? Or maybe you can send them a list of amazing songs they have to listen to?

When my friend moved to England she didn't give me an address at first so I sat down and spent a few hours falling out with Windows Movie Maker and put some pictures and stuff together with a song she liked. It was easy to post online and email her the link and tt was personal, it was a way for her to remember us

You could make a bracelet for each of them and make it personal by doing it in their favourite colours?
