Smile How do YOU...? - November 17th 2009, 08:37 PM

Hey :D Please give me some suggestions? All are appreciated!

In about 3 hours, I will be auditioning for a Drumline. That doesn't make me nervous. The part that makes me nervous is that it's a world-class level drumline, and it's located right where my school is D:

I'm so nervous though, I still have about three hours, but my hands are shaking, and I'm almost in tears. I know that sounds stupid, but I'm kind of sensitive and I'm worried about not making it.

So, my question is: How do you keep your mind of things when you are SUPER DUPER nervous? Thank you :D

-Laela

Hey Laela,
I completely know what you mean. I get super nearvous about the littlest things and cannot stop thinking about them. Here's my list that helps take my mind off things:
-Come here and start replying to other threads
-Play a video game or watch your favorite TV show
-Call a friend just to talk
-Draw, read, or write
-Listen to music
-Go for a walk just to think about nature
-Practice an intrument
Hope some of these helped and good luck! You'll do fine!

Whatever it is, chances are I've been there.
If I can make it out, you can too.

Thank you for replying

Great ideas! I'm just a little worried, because I did it for the past 2 years, but we get a whole new staff, and they don't know anybody, so everyone starts fresh. You know?

Well thanks again!

-Laela!

Chew. Gum.

But only 2 pieces an hour! Too much makes your stomach hurt. At least that's what I have done.

Hey,
Firstly best of luck to you, I'm sure you'll do fine.
All I can say is do the best you possibly can and no one can ask for anything more.
I try not to let the nerves get the better of me, think of it as if you're playing alone and no one else can hear you, play your best and be confident.
You were good enough to get an audition so you can do this!
GOOD LUCK!

Music or TV usually helps for me, just about anything that will get you involved and take your mind off it. Let me know how you did!
