Hero or Infamous what would you pick?

Now on to the question. But first i have to give a little bit of a back story so the question can make more sense.

You are in a highly public area with a lot of people. When you are given a package upon opening this package it explodes destroying six city blocks and killing everyone. You and a small handful of others survive the explosion, which is was caused by a bio-electrical device.

You are taken to a hospital you awaken to find out that you gained a superpower ( for the sake of this thread ill let you choose the power, but ill give you a list of what you can choose and the list will be at the end of this)
and the other handful of people also gain a superpower

While you are getting nursed back to health the city your in comes down with a plague. In which the government quarantines the city, causing society to collapse within the isolated city.

A few weeks pass were you are now able to control this power, and so has that handful of people that gained a power, Now those people are causing chaos and starting to rule the city.

You are now given this opportunity to either help the city or take out all the other people with powers and rule the city as a god like figure doing what you please.

Now you have to be honest with yourself would you be the hero of your city or decide to go evil and rule the city?

And for the list of powers you have to choose from


Telekinesis (the ability to move objects with thought alone)
Hydrokinesis (the ability to manipulate water)
Cryokinesis (the ability to manipulate temperature)
Pyrokinesis (the ability to manipulate fire)
Geokinesis (the ability to manipulate earth)
Photokinesis (the ability to manipulate light)
Magnokinesis (the ability to manipulate magnetic fields)
Gyrokinesis (the ability to manipulate gravitational fields)
Aerokinesis (the ability to manipulate air)

and what power would you choose and why?



For myself id choose the power of Telekinesis because i have always loved that idea and being a mentalist its the greatest trick you can do

And out of being a hero or Infamous, id choose the evil route, mainly because it would be fun to rule the city with an iron fist, and well what good would being a hero to a bunch of people who would turn on me the first time i couldn't be there to help them.

Assuming the other evil people are of the same super-power strength, it really comes down to which of the super-powers is most advantageous or strategic. I'd probably choose cryokinesis.
Cyrokinesis effectively negates some of the other powers, such as hydrokinesis and pyrokinesis. Again, depending on how much temperatures can be manipulated and how quickly, it can negate telekinesis by melting or destroying objects. Furthermore, if it could allow temperatures of absolute zero (or very near it) to be reached, other things can be destroyed or negated. Photokinesis can be negated by freezing light via BECs at incredibly cold temperatures. Magnokinesis can be combated by high temperatures as it weakens magnetic fields. Lastly, dramatic change in temperature could eliminate other beings and structures. This all assumes I can survive within any temperature change.

As to whether I'd be "evil" or not, yeah I probably would. I may change later on depending how things go and the power of the other empowered people but for sure, I'd be evil.

I think I'd be a hero. I like helping people, and I'm not cut out to be the leader or the city..

I'd choose telekesis too. And I'd be a hero, I don't think I could ever go down a bad path when it comes to something like that. It would end up effecting me negetivly so I'd have to be the good person

I'd choose aerokinesis! I've always loved the idea of being able to control air. Flying, creating little bubbles of vacuums~ I'd help people! I'd be a horrible ruler of the city.

I would pick pyrokinesis (the ability to manipulate fire) because I'm fascinated by fire and I love melting things in the bunsen burner and stuff...
I would probably be the ruler but I wouldn't be evil, I'd be like a ruler who helps people or something :P I just like the idea of power :S

Gyrokinesis. Partly because no-one else has picked it, partly because it's full of possibilities. Given fine enough control, it could be used in the same way as telekinesis. Plus, flying and squishing people.

I think that I'd end up being infamous, like it or not. What's the point in having these powers if I can't use them? Ultimately, I'd end up using them to bend the city to my will and slaughter my rivals. I don't think I'd be an oppressive ruler. I'd be loved as well as feared. But I couldn't simply let the city become a battleground for the superpowered.

Like so many other people said, I'd pick telekinesis. One day when I used to worked at Old Navy, we had a discussion similar to this and no one else said they wanted this as their "power" but me. I think it'd be really cool to be able to move things just by using your mind haha.

Also, I think I'd have to go with being a hero. I don't think I could be an evil person. I tend to be the same way in real life haha. I'm not a very dominate person, so I'm not sure I'd be capable of telling all those people what to do lol.

I'd probably pick Telekinesis. Being able to move things with my mind would make life a lot easier in many ways. I think I'd probably be a hero as well (just like I am in the game aha) because I'd rather save the city and be liked then rule the city and most likely be hated.

How did you guess? I as well love the game, I always loved playing the evil side on it.

AeroKinesis for the win. Just because I am a aspiring pilot and the fact that I love the physics and everything there is about flying..lol Also because if you control the winds good, you would be able to move things like telekinesis

I honestly would chose to save the city; hence why I love helping people.

I just finished that game as the Hero side. Absolutely loved it, so much better than the original.

I'd either pick hydrokinesis or electrokinesis if I'm honest though.

Ohh my minds are stirring now, my friend. What horrors lay within. I can see the black, sickle legs peeling back the layers of the abyss. Shall we delve? We shall delve.

Let us begin with the question. Here I stand, seeing the magnificent group existing to rule the city. For good or evil do they rule? Oh, pity it matters not. I will be the only ruler in the end. So if they are helpful lovelies or evil overlords, they will owe their whole minds to me in the end.

I would have, of course, befriended them first. They would assume me a peon, nothing more. My power, Photokinesis, seems nothing of a threat. This is exactly the way I want it to be. Who would take a Photokinesis beholder as a true threat? I'd hide my full potential. I'd wait, seeming a nearly useless super powered freak. As soon as the time was right, and when they needed to focus the most, that is when I strike. Perhaps as bullets fly toward them from a gang of killers? I bend the light, all the light, into their eyes. They see naught but white. The bullets riddle their body like a beautiful art project. The ones you do in preschool? Where you hole-punched the crap out of the paper? Something similar. Wounded, the survivors would freak out and throw their powers about. Focused light from the sun will end them fast however. A beam of superheated light, focused to laser precision, and aimed at the top of the skull. Fried.

Now they lay dead. The people of the city rush out to great this new power. Oh, my citizens! So good to see you. I have freed you from your rulers. I shall adopt a new order to help bring this city to new life! A life the government will accept and subsequently free us back into the world!

than days, weeks, months pass. I become an idol. People praise me for my good work. I fight crime to keep it to a minimum. With crime nearly gone, I install a police force to keep order. The force itself, is highly loyal to me. You see..there is an initiation.

The human brain is a fragile thing, my friends. Which is where the second part to Photokinesis comes into play. Switching from darkness to intense light and back. Strobe light effects. Suddenly changing from one color to another. All these things would so heavily ruin a human mind, it would beg for order. And I would give it to them. As they were mind-boiled by my power. My precious new soldier. I would ask them questions. Who do they serve? Why do they serve me? As I asked, I would stop the torture. They would answer me, or face severe pain. Soon, they would crave more questions to just stop the pain if but for a moment. The time between questions would decrease. Eventually, they would continue to answer, despite my question not having any repercussions. Loyal soldiers, fearing my pain. Sure, some may need refresher courses every so often, but that is how it works, yes?

A loyal army, a loyal citizenry, a stable city. Now, the government comes to see what we have become. We have become not a god, but a god city. An all powerful ruler with an army of loyal drones following him. We would expand our boarders. My light bending could knock out infrared, we would attack at night. I'd use focused light to heat tanks, cooking the soldiers inside. I would blind the enemy with bright light or utter darkness. As my boarders expanded, my army would grow. Soon, no one could stop me.

My thanks to whomever set off that bomb. They gifted me world domination. If I ever found out whom it was. I would kill them, as they are the only threat to me. No more superheroes allowed in my domain.

I don't think it would really matter that much what power I had (although I would be leaning towards pyrokinesis or telekinesis) because I'd be essentially chaotic neutral. I would probably use my power to my own advantage, but using it to do violent things or evil things has no more appeal to me than using it to help people in unnatural ways.

I think I'd go with pyrokinesis, so I could be like a firebender from Avatar: The Last Airbender. *nerd moment*

Honestly, I think I'd help people, because I think it's wrong for someone who the ability to help people to just sit back and do nothing. However, I wouldn't do it in the flashy, public way that most comic-book heroes go about. If possible, I'd try to return the city to normal in the way that is least likely to put me in the center of attention.
