The Next Step - December 2nd 2010, 10:38 PM

This is the beginning of a long and hopefully not too difficult journey for me. I've taken the first step to recover from everything I'm struggling with by admitting to a school counselor about everything from my perfectionism to cutting to suicide attempts. On Monday she's going to call my mom in to talk to her, and they're going to discuss getting my professional therapy. I'm so nervous about how it will go, but at the same time I'm relieved at the thought of finally being free again. Maybe soon I'll be saying goodbye to my depression. Maybe even my eating problems.. Gosh, I can't even imagine what it will be like. Anyone wanna share their experiences with therapy?

I think you are so brave to have reached out for help! Not many people would have the courage to do that so I think you have taken such a positive step. You can beat depression so keep at it!

Thank you, Jen.. Honestly, it was more desperation than courage. <xD I'm terrified of having another breakdown and not knowing what to do.. I don't want another attempt to add to the (luckily short) list.

Update time!

Alright, well my mom went to talk to Mrs. Sheets today. It went very well, although my mom cried a little when talking about the issues they'd had with my sister. Apparently they thought I was the normal daughter <xD. Anyway, I'll be going to a therapist soon, and I'll let anyone who cares know how that goes. ;D
