Why Me? Here is a safe space to let it all out, where you can rant about all the bad things life throws your way. Sometimes it just helps to ask "why me?"

No Rest For The Weary - July 22nd 2009, 09:35 AM

I'm too tired to stay awake but too agitated to sleep. I feel like I want to pass out, but when I lay down I feel restless and can't stay in bed.

I don't know what to do about all this anymore. I've tried everything. Seriously, everything. Does anyone else have this problem?

I haven't been able to get to sleep until like 5 or 6 AM most nights. I usually go to bed like four hours before falling asleep.

Oh my gosh! I completely know what you're talking about! Same here. My psych gave me sleep pills but instead of sleeping I just lay there and hallucinate! >_< I'm running on four hours of sleep on top of being sick. Sucks soooo much

I feel the same way most of the time. It's usually due to stress for me. And sleeping pills can sometimes not work for everyone, like in Escape's situation. It could also be a sleep disorder. (talk to your doctor if these bad sleeping habits go one for 3-4 weeks at a time). In the mean time, you can try taking Melatonin. It's a natural sleeping aid that already resides in your body. When your melatonin levels get too low you can't sleep properly (among other things). Melatonin is sold at all pharmacies as a supplement. It comes in 1-5mg, 3mg being the usual, and is sold at 2-4 dollars for 120 tablets. Take one tablet a night right before bed for one week and your melatonin levels should go back to normal. (Melatonin is safe to use and "over dosing" just causes extreme drowsiness/ please only take one tablet as this stuff can make you fall asleep quite easily.)

I know what you're talking about, I'm exhausted from the painkillers my doctor gave me and I still can't sleep. Isn't there some herbal tea that's meant to help you sleep? (Sorry, I can't remember the name of it)

There is some herbal thing for everything, but I know nothing about it and cannot find any information on it.
