Unhappy Religious teacher? - March 17th 2015, 04:15 PM

I am always uncomfortable in first period English... Due mostly to the teacher. She's very religious and it makes me very uncomfortable.. she relates things to church and the bible and she seems to only pick books for the class that mentions some sort of christian or god like thing in it. Its very fustrating and this is a public school... I thought teachers weren't allowed to share any religious views or influence and its to be avoided deeply. and its to late in the year to change classes. any help?

Hey, I am sorry to hear this. You are right, in the public education system, teachers are prohibited from emphasizing religion or try to push their views on their students. You need to talk to the principal or try to contact someone on the school board. Doesn't matter if you are in the Bible Belt, it is still illegal.
