Converting to Wiccan

I don't know what to do really. I was born as a christian but i want to convert to wiccan/pagan. If i tell my mom, i'm afraid she won't accept me as a daughter. Her religion is important to her and has gone back to 2 more generations before her. My father doesn't care if I convert. My mother's side is descended from Ireland gypsies or wiccan. I want to take up that practice. If I tell her, I'm scared she won't love me for me.

Well, no one is born as a Christian, nor are they born as a Muslim or Hindu. You become those when you believe in those doctrines.
But back to the real problem. I congratulate you for wanting to convert to another religion based upon your own willingness to do so.
Would you tell us a bit about your mother? My father's religion goes back many, many generations, but he was fine about my being an atheist. So, you never know.

i out and out told everyone, they laughed....well lets just say i broke one of the laws of Wicca pretty quickly, anyways, just tell her, if she is a real mother, she will either help or not mind, and if she doesn't like it, well just start talking gibberish and make her think you are cursing her! jk that is a terrible thing to do, don't do that,

I would wait a bit, you know, experiment with the religion a while before you decide to official settle down. You don't want to upset them and then find out it isn't for you. Give it some time. My mother is pagan/wiccan and my entire family is Christian on her side, but they were okay with it. As long as you're happy, you know what, she's your mother. She might be okay with it.

With your mom.... I'd like to hope that you as her child would be more important than any religion in the world. She might not like it, but she's always going to be your Momma no matter what. Everyone's entitled to their own beliefs! Being happy with yourself is first and foremost one of the greatest gifts a person can have.

And I agree with Traci. Before I "became" pagan and started participating in rituals, I researched a LOT of different religions to get a feel of what it was about. I looked up a ton of world-religions until I passed "pagan/wiccan" and it just stuck with me.

Some of my best friends recently converted to Wiccan.. they changed dramatically.. they are not the same kids I went through junior high school with..

it was just a salt and pepper hex, have you ever heard of it? its quite the useful little hex. of course now im kinda satanic wiccan kinda, like i believe in the goddess but i follow levey satanisms rules

never heard of it, i tend to stay away from curses and hexes. (because while i was good at making the two i tried work, i have a tendency to get carried away with them). what is it though? and maybe youre more leaning towards hoodoo or voodoo because if its a revenge/justice kind of thing, they believe in it and use curses and hexes.
