her little girl

For the first time in months, I got to go home
Spend some time in my room all alone
I found some things left by my friend
Last time I saw her I guess was the end

I have written about not being bitter, but I am a little dismayed
I just wish they both would have stayed
To again share with me laughter, hugs or a smile
Even the smallest gesture would have lasted me awhile

There were tears of joy to see my dog and cat
Lots of love and licks as I joined them on the floor and sat
I wondered if they knew how long I had been away
Or if they knew I was coming home today

On my desk, there is still a flower that had long ago lost its bloom
I could feel my moms presence in every inch of my room
Hugging my pillow while laying on my bed
Tears in my eyes as I struggle to remember things said

Wrought with emotion and feeling incredibly sad
Sensing my need for a hug, in walks my dad
Not a word was spoken for a minute or two
My daddy knew what I was going through

He told me that everything is going to be okay
Daddy then shared with me what my mom did say
How mommy was proud to bring me into this world
He knows she continues to be proud of her little girl

I will not be posting in Arrivals and Departures, but I am leaving for a while. This is the last poem I will be posting here for a while. I hope you like it. I wrote it this morning about going home for a little while yesterday and cried almost the entire time writing. I am going to continue to write. I am going away not from just TH, but the internet for a while. All involved think it is best and I am beginning to as well. I have got to try to engage in other things here around me at least until I settle down emotionally and adjust. Physically things appear to be going well and pray it conitnues. Emotionally, I am a mess and all over the place. I will miss all of you. Thank you for all your support. It has meant the world to me. Many of you mean the world to me. I love you! See you all again when I return.
