Give me prompts! -

I've been dry with plot ideas for weeks and now my parents are begging to see my writing. I don't want to show them fanfiction, I want to show them original work of writing and/or poetry. Give me something to work with, so I can show them I'm a good writer and am serious about the writing business.

When I'm stuck I usually google for prompts, there are loads of websites.
 Anyway... Describe a magic carpet ride. (I did this and now I have a full novel planned out).  What if... you had never been born. What if... you had been born the opposite gender. A rabbit/baby/dog/insert living thing here has been left on your doorstep. Describe your greatest fear. Write a conversation between an optimist and a pessimist. All of those except the magic carpet ride came off the top of my head.

 I found a site (coincidence, it's one of the "writing links" from this town nearby me!  ) that generates prompts. I've been using that.If y'all want to read my blog, it's here. |
