You came to be the person
that I'd go to for everything. But you're not even here so I can't ask you for anything. I've lived in fear I've lived in regret of you, of what you've become. Daddy, daddy you didn't have to leave me. Daddy, daddy, don't you ever miss me? I tried to stay a little girl forever just for you. But you know we all grow up and time passes us. Can you tell me, do you miss these eyes so blue? Once a man of hate now one of love. God sent me you a gift from above. But you threw this gift away with hatred and self loathing. You told me once you'd give me everything but everything turns to nothing. If you'd pay a penny for my thoughts I'd hope you have a dollar. I have so much to say I really hate to be a bother. But you told me once that you love me And I can say that I love you, too. Can you tell me do you still love these eyes so blue? One in a million years have passed Thousands of tears have fallen. Daddy, you're supposed to wipe them away what happened? Daddy, I thought you said you were here to stay. They say that time heals all wounds but I can still feel my heart bleed. You said you'd never leave but you left to soon. Why would you do this to me? Your promises, promises they never come true. But can you promise to cherish these eyes so blue? On a mid January morning I came into this world. To be held and to be loved God sent me as a gift from above. You're here, but you're out of sight But never really out of mind. I dream about you every night and every time I do dare to cry. You told me you'd wipe my eyes but the tears are building up. I feel like you've gone away too soon and if you only knew. I'll be here, alert and watching Watching for you with eyes so blue. I miss you, daddy. I just won't say good bye, my precious.

Thank you. I always feel better after writing my feelings out like this. One day, I'd like to express this to my dad.

That is like so beautiful and honest. It is straight from the heart. I love the way you have used "eyes so blue" in the poem. It gives it a certain charm and emotion. Keep writing!

Thank you very much. Although my eyes are more of a blue-green-gray, they look real blue when I cry and in certain clothes - so I thought I'd use that

Its beautiful.... Emotions straight out from the heart. And I can relate to it, even I have issues with my dad that makes me wish if i could express out something like it to him.... This is really a wonderful poem. Keep writing! <3
