No periods? - July 23rd 2018, 07:34 AM

Okay so for awhile now I haven't had a period. I know I'm not pregnat because I'm a virgin. The last one was in April. I had one every month from Jan- April this year and before that I also didn't have a period since last June- August and before that, the september before. Occasionally a bit of blood apears but that's it for period-wise. I guess I do find some clear liquid and occasional smells.
Not sure what's up. I've talked to my parents about it, but right nowwe're trying to get money so my sister can get therapy, my other sister can get her shots, my dad can figure out what's wrong with his back and for me to figure out what's wrong. In the meantime... does anyone have any ideas?
I'm 16 and first had my period at 11, which did it's normal skip some months until it was monthly and now it's doing this.

Hey,
We can't diagnose it because we aren't doctors. There are a lot of different things that can cause you not to have a period. It could be because of weight, stress or a medical reason. I would try and get it checked out soon. You say you guys don't have the money right now I am wondering if you have a planned parenthood by you, I would suggest going there and seeing if they can help you with this and what it would cost.

I will say I lost my period when I was 18 got on birth control when I was 20 and it came back, went of birth control(since its dumb for a lesbian to take and I don't want to take an extra pill) anyways it stopped coming went to the Dr. In December and they did test and it turned out I had PCOS. This may not be the case for you.

I really hoped this helped.
Your Friend,
Frankie<3

Hello,

The truth is that it could be a lot of things. There are medical issues that could be causing it but I have also been told it isn't uncommon for teens to have irregular periods. Apparently it can take time for one's body to adjust and become regular. I think it definitely it important for you to get in with a doctor to figure out what this might be. A doctor will be able to help you determine if there is a medical reason this is occurring. One thing I advise is to not look up the medical reasons that could be causing this. I've done that in the past and have been convinced I had something. I agree that looking into planned parenthood could be a good idea. They have a lot of services that they offer people and it would be worth seeing if they could help you at a lower cost.

Wishing you the best.

I think that maybe weight and lack of activity does contrube to this. When I do go to the doctor, I'll be sure to mention it and see if that is causing it.

Irregular periods is sometimes happened but we can't decide the exact cause of that problem. It may be caused due to many reason as physical or psychological problems that can be stress or medical issues. So you should look for affordable healthcare organization that provides sexual health care.

I would check with your doctor.
If your underweight, extremely athletic (and thin), or have an eating disorder, it could cause your period to stop (or be irregular).
However, you could also have cysts, or any number of other things. Or, conversely, it could be nothing at all. It's definitely worth investigating though just in case.
