Question about Planned Parenthood - April 23rd 2010, 03:34 AM

Hey,

Does anyone know if you can go to Planned Parenthood for a check-up without insurance (simply paying out of pocket) or do you have to be on some type of insurance (such as the state one)?

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated!

They got a great website and you can find the ph. no. of your local there. Give em a call.

I tried looking this up, but from what I can tell, it differs from clinic to clinic. Like Jaguar said, you should call your local clinic to find out, since there isn't really a set answer.

If you live in the US and your parents are poor, you qualify for a Family Pact Card. That's what I have. Not sure about other places.

Ok, thanks guys, that helps a lot. Cause I've been realizing that I should really get checked out (my last boyfriend was my first, but he had been with others) so I just want to make sure.

If I can't just pay upfront, does anyone know of any other places that I could go? Because my parents don't know and I don't want them to know... So I kinda have to do this on my own.

And I'm pretty sure we don't qualify for the card. Plus, then my parents would have to know about it, right?

im sure they would let you pay out of pocket for an std check. i did it at my college and they are very discrete. its probably the same kind of situation at planned parenthood. btw its really good that youre getting checked out. ^_^ very mature and responsible of you
