HELP! - July 3rd 2011, 07:45 PM

Okay, I am DEFINATELY a virgin. I haven't had sex AT ALL, I'm 13 and I had my last period on the 23rd of April. I was due to have again around the end of May but it never came. I waited till the start of June, it STILL never came so I went to see a doctor and they said not to worry, it was just stress. So I went home, didn't worry about it but now it's the 3rd of July and there's NO SIGN of it. I've had cramps in the start to the middle of June, but NO sign of my period. WHAT COULD THIS MEAN? :O

You're really young. Your period is probably not going to be completely regular for quite some time. It's nothing to worry about.

I agree with Myss, as usual =)

You're 13 years old. My period didn't regulate until I was around 14 or 15 years old. If the issue continues to persist, you need to return to the doctor.

DO NOT WORRY ABOUT IT! When you're young females tend to have irregular periods, they can go missing in action for quite sometime. A few things can contibute to this, whether its stress, weight loss or gain, or if you're on new birthcontrol. Don't freak out about it, let nature run its course.

It took me over a year for my period to actually be on a reliable schedule. Dont worry about it.

There's nothing to worry about! I used to flip out over stuff like that too even before I started having sex. I got my period at 14, & it didn't regulate til a couple months ago AFTER I went on birth control (& I'm 19 now). So just relax. The more stressed you are, the more likely you're going to miss a period anyways. That's how pregnancy scares happen. Haha

Re: HELP! - July 4th 2011, 07:57 AM

Although you say you haven't been worrying about it, your post kind of sounds like you are really stressing out about this. And as your doctor said, stress is a very common reason for skipping periods. Even if you haven't been worrying about your period, have you been worrying/stressing about other things?

It could also be caused by a change in lifestyle, like your diet or exercise. Girls who are underweight might also skip their periods. And as everyone else has said, your age might mean that your period hasn't regulated itself properly yet.

Since there is no possibility that you are pregnant and you haven't said that you are experiencing other symptoms, then I think you are probably fine. If you can't stop worrying about it, then definitely go back and see your doctor. If it would make you feel better, he could put you on the contraceptive pill which should ensure that your period comes regularly. Apart from that, the only thing you can do is wait.

Re: HELP! - July 4th 2011, 09:14 AM

As said don't worry it's probably just because they haven't settled yet. As your doctor said it could be stress, like if you have things stressy at home or school. Or maybe if you've lost a lot of weight. If you're REALLY worried go back to the doctor but try not to worry too much
And just saying, I'm 20 and mine still come and go when they please. I've had three in the last month ...

Re: HELP! - July 4th 2011, 07:42 PM

Just forget about it! Like everyone else has said, you can't have had your periods for that long & they take awhile to regulate. Some peoples' periods NEVER settle into a cycle. That's me! I've had mine for 3 years and time between them varies from 27-36 days. Yep, sucks.

Honestly, don't worry about it. You're not pregnant. You're not ill. You're just young & your body is settling into it's natural rhythm.

If you have anymore questions, feel free to PM/VM me <3

No worries, like everyone else has said, you're young.

Sometimes mine comes really quickly, other times it takes forever and I get stressed just like you do even though I'm a virgin! Haha.

If you wanna talk or have anything to ask you can PM me.

Re: HELP! - July 5th 2011, 03:36 AM

You're just fine! Like everyone else has said, it's completely normal for girls your age. It will regulate eventually. However, when it does come, be careful as it'll be pretty heavy. The less you worry about it, the faster it'll come.

"Once a little boy sent me a charming card with a little drawing on it. I loved it.
I sent him a card and I drew a picture of a Wild Thing on it. I wrote,
“Dear Jim: I loved your card.”
Then I got a letter back from his mother and she said, “Jim loved your card so much he ate it.”
That to me was one of the highest compliments I’ve ever received. He didn’t care that it was an original Maurice Sendak drawing or anything.
He saw it, he loved it, he ate it."
