Porn and Masturbation - July 29th 2011, 05:05 PM

I'm apparently not allowed to post links, so: yourbrainonporn.com

I have always heard masturbation helps you relax and reduces stress. Even to masturbate before something important so you won't be as nervous. But what this site is basically saying, is that the two act as a false reward for sex, and do the opposite.

Abstinence from the two apparently promotes social behavior with the opposite sex. Thoughts?

i dont think thats true at all. but obviously abstinenence from the two causes ur sex drive to be a bit higher , so u may have a somewhat increased desire to talk to the preferred gender

I honestly don't know how true that actually can be. Being a young person, especially male. Your sex drive will be more increased anyways. It really does relieve stress and such, it is scientifically proven.

I can see where it can make you want to talk to the opposite sex though more, because you are more sexually driven if you haven't done anything in a while.

But I could do these things and still want to be with my boyfriend alot in a sexual way.

Sometimes masturbation makes me more stressed. Lol.

Really, it depends. I believe masturbation DOES relieve stress and can help you concentrate better. I often use it while I am studying for exams. One gets to the point when one can't concentrate anymore. Masturbation releases the tension and helps you go on reading a little longer.

On the other hand, masturbation can be a lot more intense than actual sex (at least for girls). That means that one gets easily addicted to it. It's so much easier than finding a person you like and who likes you, talking to them, getting intimate, finding a place to be alone, buying condoms and so on...

I do believe, however, that at some point everyone realises they need more than just to come. So I wouldn't worry if I were you - masturbation won't prevent you from socialising, unless you get addicted to it
