How long do you wait?

Hey there, I was just curious and thought I would ask everyone how long the wait to have sex when they are in a relationship?

My girlfriend and I waited until about 2 weeks after becoming an "official" couple and it happened about a week after our first kiss. Which was probably a little soon, but we couldn't help ourselves :3 and I regret nothing.

Everyone is different and everyone moves at different paces. I like to move pretty fast - but not too fast. So Sex would be around the 1-2 month mark.

I couldn't answer the poll since none of the answers were there. Well, there was for the second one, but not for the first. So, I'm just going to answer here.

With the person I lost my virginity too, I waited 2 months. He was my first serious relationship, so I decided to wait until I was completely sure and ready. With my current boyfriend, I waited two weeks (only because we had been intimate before, and yes, I do mean sex) so it wasn't AS scary as it would have been with someone I hadn't known before.

I agree that there should be a "months" option. I waited around 9 months to have sex with my ex (we were both virgins). With my current boyfriend, we waited like a week.

It completely 110% depends on the relationship, how old you are when you started, whether or not you were a virgin when you started...it just depends on the person, so I can't tell you when is "right." If you want me to tell you what I did, well, I get to be the one that says my boyfriend and I waited...two years. Yes, we dated two years before having sex. We started our relationship young, he was my first serious boyfriend, and he has just come out of a sort of messy break up, so I don't know, we thought it was the best thing to wait. Our intention was to wait until the age of consent in our state...but we fell one month short of that. Anyway, I don't think there is a right or wrong time.

I didn't pick an answer because...well..it all depends for me. I mean..For my girlfriend right now...we were weird. We actually saw eachother kind of exclusively for a good 3 months and then made it official. After that it was about a week or two. I think if the moments right..and the person is right...it happens. I definitely wait depending on how long and how attracted I am to said person. There was a boy I slept with the same night of meeting (drunken stories) and that wasn't too great. But the time was right and I was attracted to him. We're still friends but..hasn't gone that far since. It really depends on the person I think. And their intentions. And yours.

I said "within weeks" because I'd probably want to wait a couple months or so until the relationship was established, we knew our feelings, were genuine, and we had a certain amount of trust for each other. I don't want some boy that I met 2 days ago or sometime last week touching my penis--I'd have to REALLY trust him a lot, and that's one thing that you really need to earn my trust to have the privilege to do.

Your story is quite similar to my own. We decided not to put off something we both wanted very strongly, and it happened within a few weeks of our becoming serious.

I tend to move pretty quickly. In two of the four adult relationships I have been in, we had sex within two or three weeks of knowing each other, possibly less. In the last two relationships I have been in, which includes my current relationship (going on two years now), we were having sex before we were even together as a "couple." It really depends on the situation, but I feel comfortable with the decisions I made in those relationships, because they were right for me and my partners at the time.

I picked 'within years'. However, I'd much rather have had an option for 'within months'. I've only had sex with one person but we waited just under a year since the beginning of that relationship. We had already been dating off and on for a year previous to that, as well, so it felt more like waiting two years.

I'd like a "within months" option as well. I tend to take things slowly, but not to the point where it would take year. I've been dating my girlfriend for almost 9 months now, and while we haven't actually had sex yet, we have done some sexual things. However, I think the time for everyone would be different depending on the relationship. For someone's first relationship, since they'd be new to it, it might take them awhile to feel ready to take that step. However, after that, if they are in a different relationship, it might be different since it won't be their "first time". It's not the case for everyone, but it is something to consider.

With the guy I lost my virginity too it was within a few days of us declaring we were in a relationship...I was planning on waiting a few months but it was spur of the moment and just happened. We broke up the end of the week lol.

With the second guy we were drunk and then he asked me out...and within the hour we had sex. Then I broke up with him in the morning. O_o

With my current boyfriend, we actually waited almost a month. Then once again, it just happened lol.

Ideally I would love to wait a few months to make sure we are going to be staying together etc, but it just never seems to go according to plan.

I voted a few years because it was closest to my answer I think. It is probably better to wait longer but my fiance and I waited until our 6 month anniversary. we had been trying to wait till one year but eh 6 months is good enough for me and I definitely don't regret it.

I haven't lost my virginity yet, but my boyfriend and I are pretty serious now and we dated on and off for about 1/2 - 3/4 of a year, and the most recent relationship has lasted 1/4 of a year so far. I think perhaps in the summer. Definitely not soonerrr than that though, we may wait even a little bit longer... Regardless. I'm going to vote "within years" because since it's my first time, I'm obviously waiting longer than I normally would... but at the same time, there is no "within months" option and I definitely wouldn't within weekss... I'm just a bit hesitant and would like it to be more emotional.

It definitely depends on the relationship. I'm still a virgin, and while I like to think I'd wait about a year (on a one-year anniversary sounds nice ) that might just be because I'm a virgin. Once I've lost my virginity, maybe I won't wait so long, but I don't know til it happens haha.
