Down there - February 29th 2012, 10:14 PM

This is really inappropriate I know I even feel weird saying this out loud to teenhelp. But here it goes. First time shaving down there and it was not easy as shaving your legs. I was so hairy down there. omg this is so wrong. But any ways was not able to get completly hair free down there. There was really long pieces the razor could not cut off I guess should I try scissors ???? Also I accidently cut myself down there and it bled is that bad ???

Re: Down there - February 29th 2012, 10:29 PM

Hey there. I don't think it's inappropriate to ask about. And I've never shaved completely down there. I usually just do the bikini line and then trim up the rest but to me it seems like if you wanna shave the while thing then scissors might make it easier to see what you are doing so you don't have a bunch of long hair blocking your view. I've accidentally gotten cut down there and it really hurts but Luke any other shaving cut will bleed a little then go away naturally. If it hurts too bad then you might want to stay away from madturbating for a few days to let it heal and make sure germs from your hands don't get in the cut. It might be easier to get completely shaved if you do it sitting down in the bath tub (that's what I do) because it's easier to see what you are doing and you don't have to worry about losing your balance and falling and cutting yourself like standing up in the shower. I hope this helped. If you ever need anything feel free to PM me

Hi Lauri

Don't feel awkward, it's an art!

If you've never shaved before I do suggest shaving over a couple of days purely because the skin is quite sensitive and you don't want to be dragging a razor across it over and over, it'll get irritated.

If the hair is quite long trimming will help with shaving however I suggest you use a small pair of scissors to allow for more control, and sit in front of a mirror so you can see from all angles to prevent any little accidents, especially since you're inexperienced in this area.

As long as it's not a big cut, you'll be ok... Just ensure you keep it nice and clean.

Over time you'll create your own technique, each woman will tell you they do it a different way, it's just finding the method that works best for you. Google will give you a wealth of techniques you can used for handling stubble.

Hi Lauri,

My advice to you is to start trimming with scissors to make the hair shorter, it'll be easier to shave that way. And when you are shaving get shaving cream and dont be light with conditioner either. when you think theres enough, add more. Take your time.
good luck

Re: Down there - February 29th 2012, 11:03 PM

Don't worry about it being awkward, there are tons of questions on here about shaving the pubic area. It's difficult, and the first time I shaved just the edges, it got really irritated. So, I've been in your boat.

First things first: trim before you shave. The razor won't clog as fast, and it will be easier to see what you're doing. Use PLENTY of shaving cream/gel/soap, and go slowly, rinse your razor frequently. Also, you're less likely to nick yourself if the skin is tighter, so if you can use one hand to achieve that, it will help. Try not to put too much pressure on the razor, either. You could also try moisturizing afterwards to help with irritation.

As for the cut, it's the same as though it will on your arm, leg, etc. Make sure it's kept clean, and keep an eye out for signs of infection. It will heal in a few days if it wasn't too deep, and then you'll be all set, and be sure not to pick at the scab.

Take care!

Hi Lauri,

If its your first time youll definatly want to trim with scissors then complely shave. I find it easier to do it in the shower and to put warm water on it. It helps to put lotion on it afterward so you dont get red bumps. If you do get those evil red bumps just calmly wait until they go away. As for the cut just wait a few days until it heals and make sure its not infected. Good luck Happy shaving/trimming

Everybody has pretty much got this one covered, I'm just going to say that because of the cut, you should take a few days off from trying to let that heal so that you don't reopen it by accident, and two, remember that if you don't like shaving down there you don't have to. It's a personal choice, not something society has to force on you. Do what you want.

Basically what I was going to suggest.

Also, it may be irritated & uncomfortable the first few times, but the more often you shave, the less irritated it will be down there.

Everyone already covered everything but I'll just add something else, I was in Walmart the other day and saw this things http://www.walmart.com/ip/Noxzema-Bi...-1-ct/10532858 I decided to buy them and they are the best! You cannot cut yourself or get irritation and it leaves you a close shave. You should try them seriously.

Definitely trim before hand, that way when you shave it takes a lot less time & isn't as hard. Careful with shaving too, since you can cut yourself extremely easy. You know, I hope you don't feel obligated to shave. If you just want to trim, that's perfectly acceptable. Just do what you really want to do, not what other people or society tells you.

Hey Lauri,

I'm just going to let you know men differ a lot. Some men prefer you shaved, some don't. It varies per man, and honestly, the man I'm with doesn't care. It's my body, and he's very open to what I do. Right now, I'm taking a break from shaving to see what it's like, and to let my hair regrow and see if everything is healthy. He's fine with that. Men are really not as strict and sex-crazed as we sometimes assume they are. They're fairly chill and understanding. If you are not comfortable shaving...don't. Simple as that.

Re: Down there - March 1st 2012, 05:30 PM

You can still get inside with hair, it does not block the vaginal canal or anything, just some men don't prefer it. But hair isn't pulled or anything, and it is more pleasurable for some women. I actually recommend to anyone to try both, if you haven't already. Find your actual preference, rather than what you think your preference would be because of societal standards. Guys are taught so much from porn that shaved is better, while girls from magazines and products, but really, if you haven't tried it, you don't know. What I'm saying is that until you are married and having sex, you don't know what your preference for intercourse is, and you don't know your future husband's. I would just experiment and see what you prefer doing to your own body, and see what he says in the future.

It's going to be a bit itchy the first few times you do it. I'd recommend a sharper razor and using A LOT of shaving cream or soap, but little enough that you can see what you're doing.

Re: Down there - March 1st 2012, 09:29 PM

Thanks it just seem like it would get in the way. Ouch this was a very bad experiance for me I thought it would be easy it was not. I cut myself down there a lot by accident. I have put lotion down there it has helped with the pain. For now Im not going to touch it just let it be. Horrible experiance.

The razor was sharp thats why it cut me lol. I used shaving cream. Thanks for the info.

Re: Down there - March 2nd 2012, 12:19 AM

If the hair was too long and the razor too dull, it can pull your hair and duller blades are always more dangerous. And like miss coffee said, you don't HAVE to do it, especially if you find it to end up being more of a pain. I used to shave legs, armpits, and nether regions when I first started dating my boyfriend. About a year and a half, I asked if he would still find me attractive if I didn't shave (I always got irritation and ingrown hairs, no matter what I did, and it gets prickly again, fast). He said of course. At the time I was surprised, but really I think the media just highlights it much more than needed. I no longer shave my legs (haven't for over a year), I only trim down below with scissors and a fine toothed comb, and I only shave my armpits when they start annoying me. And the intimate part of our relationship is just as hot Our bodies are just as beautiful as nature intended than as they are waxed and shaved.
Good luck, and I agree, if you do want to try again you should wait until your wounds heal.

Just for the record: not all males prefer a woman shave her pubes. I prefer she have hair because I think having sex with a shaved pussy looks weird. Hair doesn't get in the way even if it's long, though most girls trim it to be comfortable.
BTW, my gf doesn't shave her legs in the winter either and it's plenty ok with me. All the guys I know are ok with leg hair too.

What just happened?
