worried - February 17th 2010, 10:39 PM

Im worried about my son because when he was born he was 7p 10ounces and when i took him home he was 7p 1 ounce then went down to 6p 11ounces and hes now 7p 4 ounces and he keeps going back and forth to 7p 2 ounce and 7p 4ounces hes almost a month old and not even at his birth weight or past it im breast feeding and formula feeding every hour. has anyone else have this problem? if so what did you do? i think there is something wrong because all that milk and formula must be going somewhere

I don't have any experience with this hon, but I would just talk to his doctor about it and see if they can give you any advice.

I am really sorry hon. But I am sure you will work everything out and get it all together & hopefully it wont be too stressful leaving your older kids to take care of the new baby. Just try to hang in there and be as positive as possible.

My son went well below his birth weight and just couldn't get it back up. We had to take him in for weekly weight check. I was breastfeeding, and he was nursing all day it felt like. Eventually we supplemented with formula... only about an ounce or two a feeding. He started putting on a ton of weight after that. I just wasn't producing enough for him.

I hope everything is ok, and just hang in there!
