Guilt- mornign after pill= wrong?

So i know this probably seems really stupid to people.
But i had unprotected drunken sex last night. and i know i need to take the morning after pill. that its the only option.

But, the guilt i feel. feels like it's so wrong to try and stop a pregnancy, to kill a potential life.

I know i have to do it, but it feels so wrong.

I had to take it yesterday. I felt awful, but I had to. I can't raise a child now, it wouldn't be right for the child.
Try not to feel guilty, if it's the best thing for you and any potential child then in my opinion you're doing the right thing.

Firstly, I'd like to say that taking emergency contraception is not at all like an abortion. You are not "killing" anything by taking it because emergency contraception works before a baby is conceived. It is no different than taking the normal contraceptive pill or even using a condom since they also stop potential life. Also, there's no way to know that you would actually get pregnant from this encounter, so you might not be stopping anything (but you should still take emergency contraception to be safe).

What you are doing is being responsible and doing the right thing. So many girls are too scared to get the morning after pill which puts them in a worse situation later on. You are being really sensible, and that is nothing to feel guilty about.

You should also consider getting an STD check done, just to be safe as well.

The morning after pill prevents contraception as ShimmeringFaerie here said. It is not an abortion pill. You have no reason to feel guilty. You're only looking out for yourself. Contraception is meant to be used so that you have control over your reproductive cycle and so you can plan for a family when that time comes. I think it's a lot more responsible for your sake and the sake of your future children than letting the pieces fall where they may.
