unable to have kids? -
December 17th 2011, 06:51 AM
I am 20 years old (my age on here is wrong I was born 1991) and my boyfriend is 22. We have been together for just over 2 years now and we are engaged. We live together in a spacious 2 bedroom apartment. I am a janitor (taking online courses for ECE) I clean 3 different buildings it is a job that pays decent. My boyfriend is hired on in a factory (he want's to go to school to be a mechanic) and makes good money so we are in a good position to have a child. We have been trying now for 6 months and I haven't gotten pregnant. I am beginning to get a little depressed over this since I have always loved kids and have wanted one since before I hit puberty
. So I was wondering does anyone have any advice on how to have better chances to get pregnant?

Well, have you been on birth control in the last year? If so, it can take anywhere from 2 months to an entire year before it's fully out of your system, depending on which medicine. Also, if you haven't been trying for a full year, then keep trying! It usually takes at least a year of trying before couples get pregnant.
To help, don't use lube. It's suspected that it makes it harder for the sperm to get where it needs to go. So try not to use lube. Another, track when you ovulate and have intercourse when you should be ovulating. Basal Body temperature can help you learn when you ovulate and if it is regular. You need to do this for at least 3 months (Basal Body Temp) before you can start predicting your ovulation and timing sex around then. And if a year goes by and nothing still, it can't hurt to go to the doctor. Also, apparently it's most likely the guy ![]() Just try those few suggestions and hopefully there will be some others I doubt anything is wrong. These things sometimes take time!
So you have gray hair and you're only 26
that's just another reason I love you... ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Thank you very much your post has been quite helpful
. I have never been on birth control of any kind. I don't believe in it . 6 months ago was my first time.

Most people it takes a year or more to get pregnant. My doctor told me before I got pregnant if it was longer than a year she could run tests. I can give you a whole list of things because I was once trying (which as you can tell by my siggy I have became pregnant twice (after being sure I could get pregnant) so I'll give you all the tips I was given). If you have any more questions feel free to ask me.
1) Green Tea, green tea has some kind of chemical in it that increases cervical Mucus 2) Checking your cervical mucus every day when it's the right time to make a baby the Mucus will look and feel like egg whites, thats what they call in the trying to concieve world as Egg White Cervical Mucus or EWCM 3) Instead cups and pre-seed, I never used pre-seed, but that is a special kind of lube you can get some kind at Meijer I forget the name of it, and Instead cups are usually used for keeping menstural blood in but once after you have the 'baby dance' don't get up but put one of the isntead soft cups in and keep it there for 2-8 hours to keep all the sperm from where they are supposed to be (they can't escape so either they are going to stay there or enter your cervix 4) Try around 14 days after your period started. Every woman is different with their cycle, so 14 days and the week surrounding, before and after will help you. If you want to go to google, bing or whereever you want and type in ovulation ticker, and find somewhere that has an obvulation calander, such as either fertility friend or medhelp. Any other help you're free to ask me. You can't live a positive life with a negative mind and if you have a positive outcome you have a positive income and just to have more positivity and just to kind of laugh it off. ~ Miley Cyrus ![]() ![]() |

^ What the above poster said.
You don't need to spend hundreds of dollars on them either. They are available to you at any pharmacy. There is a VERY small window in which you're ovulating, and is the peak time for conception to take place. You need to make a chart or mark on the calender when you're ovulating, knowing that's the best time to try to get pregnant. It can take people some time to get pregnant. For many, it happens right away. For others, it may take some time. If you still aren't getting pregnant after trying to ovulation tests, I'd make an appointment with a fertility doctor and get both you AND your partner tested. |

I imagine you could just have sex every night though, and then you'd definitely have sex the day of ovulation
I doubt either of you would complain about that either
