He Cheated....

My friend Melissa who I kind of like is with this guy, who used to date another one of my friends, Jordan, the two girls were never friends though, but Melissa's boyfriend cheated on her with Jordan his old girlfriend, and I found out. Do I tell Melissa he cheated? or do i ignore it? HELP!

It's up to you if you want to tell her. But there are three things that you should think about first.

1. Do you have any proof that he cheated? If you don't, it's very possible that your friend won't believe you. Nobody wants to believe that their boyfriend/girlfriend is cheating on them. And unless you have stone-cold proof, your friend will most likely hold onto the hope that her boyfriend is a nice guy. And she might end up angry at you for "lying".

2. Does your friend know/suspect that you have feelings for her? If she knows or thinks you might, then she might end up thinking that you are trying to break her and her boyfriend up. She will probably be less inclined to believe you because she thinks you are just stirring up trouble.

3. If you told her, would you be doing it for her benefit or for yours? Finding out her boyfriend is cheating on her is really going to hurt her. Do you think she would actually want to know if he was? I know it seems like a silly question, but it's common for people to not want to know that their partners are cheating on them. The whole ignorance is bliss thing. It's sort of a tricky situation though because if you don't tell her and she later finds out that you knew, she might be angry.

Basically, it's up to you. However, what might be a better option would be to confront the boyfriend. Tell him that you know what happened and that if he does it again, you'll tell Melissa. It might be enough to make him realise that he has done the wrong thing.

She has the right to know. It will be hard, juyst be there for her, and kick him up the asS?
