That awkward moment when... - January 31st 2012, 02:03 AM

You realize your current beau is exactly the same (yet totally different) than your exe (that you regret dating the most). Yeah, I've done so good with dating the opposite of the exe of mine that my family and myself extremely dislike...And now I've come to the realization that my current lover is just like him in the most important way when it comes time to bring him home to the family; his looks >.> the exe they hate wuz an emo kid >.> my current, a total metalhead :I I mean, it's not like the family that headbangs at every wedding/familygathering/event/etc will have a problem wit metalheads, but now it gives me a problem...

As I notice more and more similarities beyond the superficial ones aforementioned, I just wanna get away from this man with my pride intact xD any of u guys ever notice that one thing about ur current beau that reminds u of ur exe, and then (insert sound of glass shattering) you just can't stand to be around them anymore?

When I first started dating my boyfriend, I did notice similarities. The thing is, sometimes people just have common interests. It doesn't mean that they are just like your ex. Sure, both your ex and current boyfriend may have a similar type of style, but this doesn't mean that they are the same person. Looks aren't everything (which I'm sure you've heard several times). The important thing is that your current boyfriend's personality is a lot better.
Remind yourself that they aren't the same person, and they are different. Otherwise your mind could wander and keep searching for other similarities.

I have noticed a lot of similarities between my fiance and my ex who I really don't like anymore. But the similarities aren't bad ones and they are just that. they are not exactly alike and honestly the two people couldn't be more different!
