Why not grow it out and if you can't stand it, shop it off. It's easier to do that way instead of chopping then growing [:

The thing is once it gets to the length in that picture it doesn't grow very quickly so it's stuck in a midlength type thing that's so annoying coz it doesn't stay straight and it doesn't stay up in a bobble properly.
