Causes of depression. - August 22nd 2016, 06:47 AM

What do you think? What causes you to be depressed. I get depressed normally when I don't get what I want the most. Is that the same with you all?

Do you mean depression in the clinical sense, or feeling down for a period of time? I think depending on what you mean, the answers will differ quite considerably!

I agree that there's a huge difference between clinical depression that's been diagnosed by a professional and just feeling depressed. There's also something called situational depression.

That will be different for different people. I get depressed over short things, like if I don't get something that I wished for.

Personally I have been diagnosed with BPD and Depressive episodes (plus more but these two cause me to be depressed at times) so I guess part of it is a chemical imbalance in my brain but also things about the past make me feel depressed and really low.
