The best thing you can do in my opinion and I am a cutter too, is talk to someone. When you feel like you want cut text your bf, best friend, or whoever, you can even dm if you want to. I've found the best thing to do is text my best friend. He helps me a lot. My boyfriend does too, but he doesn't know I cut. But just talking about what's making you want cut helps relieve that anxiety a lot of the times. I'm always here to help you can dm me anytime. Hope this helps c:

Like it was already said, talking to people when you want to self-harm can be helpful. You can talk about what's upsetting you or you can just talk about whatever you'd like to and use that as a good distraction. I know it can be hard because you feel like you've hurt your boyfriend, and those feelings can make you want to do it again. Maybe you can tell him that you'll be sure to try some coping skills before you self-harm instead of promising him you won't self-harm. If there is anything in particular your boyfriend can do to help, let him know. Be open about what you need, even if that is space.

I suggest keeping a journal or a blog so you have your own private space to talk about whatever is on your mind. A lot of good can come from getting things out of your head because keeping it all in can become too much for you to take. Here are some alternatives for you to take a look at.
