Okay...Idk what to do. Whenever theres an argument my dad threatens to kill himself. It's scaring me since about 20 years ago he tried to kill himself. I'm 12, but I heard about it. It scares me that he might be going back into the same place. Whenever I cut he goes "you're the only reason I'm alive, don't fucking do it," and it's breaking me to pieces. He keeps talking about him. His life. Him ending it. I don't know what to do anymore..I know it can be an abuse tactic and he used to be very abusive toward me, is he still abusing me? Or is he seriously suicidal? He doesn't do anything. He might punch something instead of hitting me now, but he never acts on his suicide threats. He might run away from home temporarily. But I don't know...I need advice.
Hello, I am sorry about what is happening and when you have time try writing a letter to your parents about how this is making you feel and then ask if all of you can talk calmly about this together. Parents get upset when we are having a hard time with something and they are trying to help us and they don't know how to help, always try talking about what is going on. Hope everything will be okay soon.

Hey, it sounds like you and your dad need help, it could be deemed emotional abuse, is there anyone you can speak to about this - I know you have a teacher/tutor at school who you trust, could you mention this to them and ask them for some help? It's not okay for your dad to hit and punch you this is physical abuse. I really think you need to speak to someone who you trust.

Hi there,
I'm sorry to hear what you're going through at the moment with your Dad.
It does sound like it could be emotional abuse and it is unfair that he threatens you with suicide, especially since you are still so young (however, it's never OK to do this, regardless of how old you are!).
Is there anyone at all that may be able to help you escalate this further since your school and DCF isn't willing to help - that's if you wish to do so?
Over time, this will affect your mental health even further and by talking to someone about it will help you and your Dad in the long run.
I hope this helped and if you ever need anything, please let me know.
Whenever I talk to someone my parents turn around and say I'm a liar and none of it's true, so theres no fucking point, they will believe a 38 year old man over his 12 year old daughter. It's fucking useless
